Forensic analysis shows the real Planned Parenthood scandal is the videos themselves. They were deceptively edited.

. I think what is really appalling about PP is that they have exploited an individual woman’s right to end an unwanted pregnancy; subsequently, they produced more fodder for the ideologues which will probably cause further pain to the women they were serving.

What happen to the woman’s choice? How can a woman exercise her right to privacy and closure when the remains are being collected and sold, or donated at cost as PP claims?

What they are doing is intimately more violating to a woman then for her to wade through one of those pro-life picket lines of strangers to get inside a clinic.
PP actions whether they profitted or not robs a woman morally of her privacy and right to closure.
I don’t think the decades-worth of lines of women who have had abortions had a clue that the remains of their decision were being collected for other uses.
That is what is so disgusting about this topic to me --not whether or not the PP executives appeared callus or greedy on film. I guess that’s why I didn’t bother to watch any of the vids. I’ve heard enough.

Rand was not for slavery. BUT she was pro-Man. What kind of sense of life do people have who participate in this evil practice which is controlled by the state and takes freedoms from some and gifts them by monopoly to others. we get Frankenstein companies. NOT capitalism, NOT freedom

Whether it is illegal or not, and whether the videos were edited or not, the truth is that Planned Parenthood is providing baby parts from aborted babies. This fact alone is appalling to many people. Perhaps they should have realized that this is the reality of abortion, but I don't think they did. Time for them to look at the facts.

The source of the article should be enough to raise red flags. The Nation is one of the worst excuses for journalism. They defend almost anything government does and anything that puts a bad light on business. Extremely slanted, biased source.

"They defend almost anything government does"
I used to subscribe 15 years ago. They were critical of gov't power back then.

I subscribed when they were covering the S and L collapse/con, and some of the reporting seemed good at the time, (but I was admittedly more naive then.) When I looked at the issues after reading the Nation's coverage, it was clear to me that they weren't concentrating on the real problems; the unholy alliance between government and Wall Street was ignored. The rest of their articles were so irrationally biased that I cancelled the subscription (and stopped dating an otherwise smart woman who refused to see what was obvious to me.)

At some point I had a similar response. It seemed like they were bias, almost openly. I believe the corporate-owned MSM have a bias, but most of them are not open about it. It's good that the Nation will challenge that, but I no longer thing news stories must have two more sides. I see the rightwing bias in the MSM, but I don't get any comfort form reading someone doing the same thing from the other side, as if truth comes from an adversarial trial process where each side selects facts that support its theory of the case. That may be the best way to deal with criminal charges, but it's not the way I want to consume news. I want the facts.

So...we're supposed to just go along with Planned Parenthood's response here?

Astroturfing at it's finest. But, people will buy it. It reminds me of the law going after people who document animal cruelty in farming - a law marketed as an animal rights bill. The average person can't be expected to form any logical opinion with these practices. That's why it's done...

I'm curious -- why do you call it astroturfing? Do you really think the lefties who support PP are all paid shills?

I beg to differ. I've been at their demonstrations and even fought people who blocked clinic entrances.

No. I don't think all the lefties who support PP are paid shills. This article is a PP response, right? It is not something written by lefty supporters, from what I saw. This is from them.

I know what I saw in the clips. As Dagney Taggart said, "I studied engineering in college. When I see things I see them."

I can appreciate your efforts at the clinics. But, this is astroturfing. If somebody thinks what PP is accused of is ok they should admit it, champion it. But, don't do it and say, "We don't do that." I think it's interesting that the group who did these videos is focusing on the profit aspect. They know the public will react to that pursuit of profit. Interesting...

Frankly, I'm surprised PP hasn't just done exactly that. I can't believe that anyone who has been a patient there would have objected to the sales if told about them -- why shouldn't the rubbish be put to helping medical science?

Two points. One. The female supplying the "rubbish " cannot make any money on its sale. By law.
Second. A not insignificant amount of money is collected on intact, born live, killed outside the womb "rubbish "

Thank you. It sickens me. And, I'm pro-choice. But, this literally makes me want to vomit. It has caused me to cry. I'm a big, tough guy but this is too much for me... I absolutely object to tax dollars funding this operation. IMO, even the mothers are victims here. This is very, very sad. When I recently heard a description of the latest video I decided not to see it. I did try to watch several of the earlier ones and that was tough. This latest one I have some knowledge of is too much. I never want to see it...

Abaco, about 35 years ago I held a relative's hand while she had a suction abortion at about 24 weeks. I watched as they pulled the baby out in pieces. I am still pro-choice, but I have no illusions about what abortion is.
