Just found this. I thought Denver threw the game. Now I know what happened.

    It would only be cheating if they had had a mole at the practices the week before the game and were trying to catch the signals. Doing so from past games, or during the game is entirely above board (and just smart).

    That doesn't really matter. Back when I was an offensive back the other back I played with would sometimes point and tell the defense, "We're going right there" and we would then proceed to run them over anyway. The level of scouting in something like the Superbowl is so great that few plays are surprises to the opposition. It's not a game of going where they don't expect you as nearly as much as it is a game of kinetic energy.

    The Zebras greatly helped Seattle against SF. I, once again, am taking a break from the NFL. My last one lasted a few years and started when the Seahawks had the Superbowl title taken from them on a bogus holding call.

    I completely expected the refs to assist Denver in the Superbowl because I knew the Seahawks were a greatly superior team. But, to my surprise, the flags stayed in the pockets.

    And, my two favorite teams are SF and Seattle so I have no real beef other than the fact that the officials tend to do the worst jobs on the higher-importance games. I think SF should have been in the Superbowl. Either way, Denver didn't have a chance...

    They should really change the title of this article. They didn't cheat at all. They were on the field figuring out what the other team was going to do. Even if they studied past games to figure out what his "code" was, it isn't cheating. What are they supposed to do? Realize what the other team is going to do and pretend that they don't know? It's like Manning was going out and explaining every play in plain English to the whole field. This was not cheating and it severely undermines the achievement Seattles defense earned by cracking his code.

    I wouldn't call it cheating...I would call it taking what the other team was giving. They figured out his signals...perhaps Manning should have changed them up? No whining.

    Can't change the title, the system won't let me. I tried correcting the spelling but couldn't.

    He changes his code every game so studying past games won't help. I've never seen this level of accuracy in foretelling the play ever before. Let's see what further info comes out.
