Well, I meant paying attention to the sun rather than actually watching it. When I want to look at the actual sun I use a pair of binoculars and project an image.

"Global Weather Oscillations". Catchy! It's so much more inclusive and indistinct that "Global Warming" or "Climate Change".

I can hear it now: "Gee, it looks like it might rain. Must be due to Global Weather Oscillations! When will those damned deniers see the truth?"

Watching the sun, I've been concerned about global cooling for a decade.

One of the things that the global warming people never talk about is that, to a point, warmer is better. If the planet is warming then it will actually be better for some time to come. Cold is associated with famine and disease, warmth with well being.
