Packages could be delivered by unicycle drones that swarm together

UPS, DHL, USPS, FEDEX, etc.. ground delivery could go away in favor of automated delivery service. If so a lot of drivers will be out of work. I wonder how these robots will keep packages dry in the rain or snow or how packages will be delivered to the 3rd or 30th floor? Even so, pretty neat stuff aside from the economic impact.

I think some technology like this is coming one way or the other. I wouldn't recommend young people plan on long career devlivering boxes.

Starting at 0:32, it looks like that little robot is going to hit on her after it's vision overlay turns from red to green indicating an attractive person.

I agree these things are inevitable, particularly here in the US and other industrialized countries. The global economy is necessitating technology like this in order for US to remain competitive.

I agree with all of that. Also, at the same time a global economy is necessitating technology, technology is necessitating a global economy by breaking down the geographic barriers that used to keep would-be buyers and sellers apart.

It will break down more than the geographic barriers. Wait, it will consolidate nations into trade bloc's and will circumvent things like the Constitution with corporate bylaws whose intent is to govern trade. Its unclear just yet how large unemployed populations factor into this scenario but I'm sure there is a plan.

I agree with that except for the plan. We naturally think of huge complicated events as having huge complicated causes, i.e. a secret plan. In this case, I think technology got to this point though human discovery/invention, and there's no planning or predicting the repercussions.

I'll admit that this could just be my conspiratorial writers mind but it seems that there are fixed number of people who would profit greatly from trade blocs. For trade blocs to occur, you'd need representatives from each country (Treasury Secretary - appointed, not elected) to arrive at a consensus for the bloc. This governing board would act independent from the elected governments of each member country of the bloc for what best served the "corporations" that make up the bloc, not necessarily the citizens. Consider international banking and the ever growing list of international corporations and its really not inconceivable that a few thousand or tens of thousand of people could we working in concert toward one world governance.

I think that scenario may be true in that governments and market participants look for ways to take advantage of the new rules being written now that value now travels across borders just by clicking send.

People wanting to trade what they have for what they want, though, is a natural human process.
