This is a 7 min video of a flight (must have been pre9/11, as WTC is there) of a restored DC7B around NY. If you like old planes, or ever flew on one, may stir some memories.

When I was learning to fly, I also was writing for local and regional aviation magazines. So, I had a dozen or more flight instructors, mostly in Ohio and Michigan, but also Florida and Texas. I got time in a sailplane, an ultralight, and a biplane, and lots of Cessnas from 150 to 185. When I was living in Michigan, a local automotive supplier was really behind in a critical delivery and we had a fleet of DC-3s come in and load up. It was pretty interesting.

At the beginning of the video, they mention flying out of Ypsilanti. The Yankee Air Force is at the old Willow Run Airport. Willow Run was where Ford made one B-24 Liberator every hour. We met YAF's Yankee Lady B-17 a couple of times.

One time, on a drive from Columbus, Ohio, to Dayton, I saw an airship come down at the Yellow Springs Airport. As I recall it was for Budweiser. They were coming back from Indianapolis and got a bad weather warning, so they set down.

Thanks Mike, I actually spent $900 to fly my son and I on the Collingswood Foundations 909 B17 from Salem OR to Mcminnville OR and back a few years ago. I wanted him to experience what it was the WW2 aviators experienced, before they have no more planes to do it with. It was well worth it.
