We have been watching Patriot Games (one more night to finish it). Irish Catholics in America contributed money to finance to terrorism in the Old Sod for over 100 years. Then, there are radical Protestant Christians such as Eric Robert Rudolph. (Christian terrorism in Wikipedia here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christi... also recent attacks in Albuquerque here: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/28/us/...

And what about anarchists? The assassination of President McKinley and the Wall Street Bombing of September 16, 1920, stand out, but are not isolated or exceptional. The battle still goes on in the streets today with WTO protests, and for that matter the Occupy movement. But the "Agorists" eschew such conflicts and look to market solutions.

In a recent Gulch link to a debate on religion by comedians (honest), one of them pointed out that John Hinckley claimed Jody Foster for his inspiration, but we do not blame Jody Foster for the attempt on the President's life.

That said, ideas do matter. While religionists kill each other, philosophers, scientists, and merchants tend not to. No matter the acrimony between Wittgenstein and Popper, their students do not bomb each other's beer gardens.
