Completely unrelated to anything. I'm just really looking forward to this tonight.

Is she still talking to you? Lol. Burrito might need one too. The feral, abandoned and rescued are more independent, but they are also very appreciative.

I would love to see a good meteor shower. I am in Big Sky Country after all, but there is just to darn much smoke. .

I didn't have much luck. We had some clouds. I got to see one good one that lasted about a second, but that was it. I'll be out there again tonight, fingers crossed. :)

I'll report in. Last night's meteor shower was one of the best I have seen in 6 decades of life. I lost count. NASA's estimate in the article of 100 per hour was correct.

As they outlined, conditions needed to be optimal, and boy did I have that. No moon, sparse moving clouds, hi elevation desert in Northeast Nevada. Clear, dry atmosphere and few lights around to interfere. The days are hot, but the evenings cool down beautifully in the hi desert. Temperature was perfect, no bugs. Nice chairs in the back yard at 5700 feet elevation.

Lots and lots of lasting shooters leaving a glowing trail. I stayed out there until 1:00 AM just watching the show. Fantastic. I was heading back in towards the house trying to see the ground ahead of me and where the gate in the fence is, when everything lit up in a huge flash. I looked up and there was this luminescent trail across the sky above the silhouette of the Ruby Mountains. That trail sat there and glowed for at least 5 seconds. Wow, I am back out there tonight.

Wasn't anything to see here. Patchy clouds reflecting the lights from Newark, Jersey City and Manhattan.
