Attention coffee lovers: this is a great site for everything you ever wanted know about your favorite coffee & more!

Thanks to Khalling & the brief comments on we had on coffee that got me on this topic. BTW, the Gevalia Espresso (set to strong-brew) was superb this morning. Cheers.

    well, i just tried it. it tastes pretty good, but i don't think i'll continue to add it. it's faster to just put milk or half-and-half rather than blend in the butter. i do like the color it turned the coffee into, though. very pretty.

    ooo... okay, i'm intrigued. i'm going to try that tonight--blend some real butter in my coffee. it doesn't seem that strange now that i think of it. butter is basically another form of cream, yes? that explains why cashews taste so good with coffee.

    I don't add sugar to anything, so that won't be a consideration. I'll take a sip of it black and will likely add a bit of milk to it. I'll let you know!

    Cashews??? Hmm...I don't have any, but I'll have to try that in the future.

    ?? I don't know. You better not waste a good cup. Use the Folgers "military-grade" as I call it, regular-blend to experiment & see. Save the good stuff!

    There's a line from "The Mote in God's Eye" where humans are meeting with aliens. The steward serving is thinking to himself about the hot chocolate he's serving the aliens. He said to himself, "I've heard of them using a bit of butter in their hot chocolate in the limey ships... but a drop of machine oil?"

    After that I tried putting a bit of butter in my hot chocolate, and was promptly hooked. I've since thought about trying it in my tea or coffee (I don't often drink coffee), and see how it tastes.

    weird. butter and coffee. oh I have a story. so in the gulch if you purchase whipping cream, it's often spun into butter by the time you get it home. it was the holidays and so I had some around-as the half and half was out. it plopped liked clotted cream into my coffee and a golden film appeared at the top. everything smelled ok so I took a sip. it was delicious. but I wondered the rest of the day if a dollop of butter would have tasted the same. butter in your coffee and other stories from a second world country...

    Damn. Whole-bean & then grind. I do that, but only on special occasions. Your preference on drinking it, but to truly appreciate the flavor, I would avoid sugar and only add some milk or half and half. My son drinks it black. I can, but prefer a little cream.

    Oddly, I only recently found this out; I have discovered (during my time at work) that eating cashews and drinking coffee go VERY WELL together. I don't know what it is that makes the two go together, but they do. FYI.

    i routinely stay up until 3-4am reading or writing. it's my best creative time.

    it's whole bean, which i'll grind right before brewing. how should i drink it? any suggestions?
