Amazon is too good, it is a social danger

This is a very non-boring time to be alive. Headlines and news, while they rarely surprise me, they often amuse me. This is no exception. This is another one of those "now non-fiction" moments. Amazon is too good for consumers, we need to use the coercive Government to force them to charge above a market rate! Otherwise, it will be unfair to other book sellers who can't afford to compete, and publishers and authors (etc.) who just want to charge more. It is a social danger:

This is the end of the big publisher. As an Amazon author, I applaud the ability to get my books in the hands of the most people I can. The big authors have alot more competition now and they are earning less than they did because of it. The industry is changing and someone else is likely to come up with a fabulous model that will upend Amazon.

Amazon has already begun the move to the next level on that.

First they had the kindle owners lending library. Now they have a new approach. Their kindle subscription service, reading anything in their kindle library for a flat fee. (I assume with buy in from the authors for a fee per download from Amazon)

You don't get to keep the book on your device, but a good deal if you love to read.
