Watch the video. A bit amateur but very candid and real reactions from real working people. I feel like this is affecting everyone but so few people are calling bullshit on Obama.

Who wants to share a real story from the gulch?

Anybody who thinks that a program can be created - a government program - where 30,000,000 more people are going to get insurance for free, and there are going to be no limits or preexisting condition limits and you will be keeping your own doctor and to top it off everybody is going to see their insurance cost DROP $1500-2500 a year - is crazy.

It was never going to happen that way. It's like all these liberals crying for more gun control. The goal is not a better system, it's ALL about them getting more CONTROL!

Those idiot dems who pushed this abortion through congress just gave themselves 1/6th of the US economy. Why? Because their supporters are the owners of hospitals and medical centers. Warren Buffet is one of the top three owners of medical centers in this country. Hospitals, retirement centers, nursing homes, medical device makers, prosthetic devices - they make up a large majority of his holdings. Obama just paid his sugar daddy back for getting him elected.

Our premium was going to increase from $420 to $800, almost double. We went through the whole underwriting song-and-dance in late Dec so we can get one more year of non-compliant insurance.

I'm still optimistic PPACA will do more good than harm, but it's a tough nut to crack. Everyone with modest wealth wants to protect it against a health problem, and people with no wealth deserve some way to pay for their care too. It's a tough problem.

I agree with much of what you said. It is the people that expect care and intend to pay nothing that bother me. It is not sustainable.

PPACA is not perfect, but one good thing is that it stops the practice of people with no money and no insurance indirectly getting their care paid for by people who do have money/insurance.

Another huge good thing is that it allows people to change jobs w/o worrying about insurance. Before you had people get sick, say with cancer, and then they were afraid to change jobs b/c it might affect their treatment-- even if some better opportunity for them and an employer presented. Someone with a history of heart disease didn't want a full-time job at my shop (back when I had enough business to support a FT engineer) b/c of insurance. That wouldn't be an issue after 1/1/14.

I will start with my own story. Married with two kids under 4 yrs old. The Anthem plan I just finalized 6/2013 and was thrilled with was canceled and automatically switched to an Obama approved plan. Premiums went up $250/mo. When I called about the new plan I was told it was "similar" and to wait on paperwork being mailed for details.

Turns out "similar" means less coverage, higher deductible, higher premium. Surprised? No. Mad? Yes.

I'm calling bullshit on BO and his whole socialized medicine and socialized world plan.
