Perhaps, when these kind of events come to light, a email and phone call campaign to the offending schools administrators, boards and districts is in order. Not just from within the district, from all over the country. A little pressure might make others think twice before it happens again. Then again, maybe its just me who thinks it will make a difference. Anyone have the email address, etc. for the particular district, school, board, etc. in this article?
what would happen if a good percentage of these students showed up wearing red, white, and blue on the day they wanted their original celebration?
i'm not a parent, but i am the eccentric aunt to quite a few kiddos. that being said, if my niece came to me and told me this was happening at her school, i'd print out 100 fliers asking kids to wear patriotic colors on xyz date, and then tell her to hand them out to her friends when the teachers aren't looking.
This is just another, blatant example of how our country is and has been bending over backwards to accommodate illegal alien invaders, who don't want to become, culturally, what this country is all about, they just want to sop up the gravy.
It's the Globalization doctrine being shoved down everyone's throat in society, colleges and schools. Lose your identity and become part of the global community.
The Soviets are thrilled. The seeds (infiltrators) they planted in the 1930's are finally producing fruit. Poisonous fruit and it's in the public school system & universities.
Why is there not a mob of parents crowding the office for answers. They complain....then just gently let it go. DEMAND ANSWERS! Logical ones. And for good measure throw in a "And your lack of appreciation for America and Constitutional freedoms is HIGHLY OFFENSIVE to us who realize you're weak human beings who hide from having to face the consequences of your bad decisions that negatively affect students who, for ONE day, want to celebrate America."
Part of what grinds me is how the "decision makers" run and hide when asked for comment. A "board" or a "council" is made up of people. Just once I would like for one of these lunatics to step forward and give an explanation as to how this kind of decision was made.
If people are present in the United States and attending school at a public school, they should not feel uncomfortable at celebrating the country they are living in, after all it is providing them an education, protecting their lives and providing all of the constitutional protection any other resident of the country has, citizen, resident or visitor. In some cases they are not treated as well as possible, but those are relatively rare and usually handled by social pressure to be good and treate guests well. If you as a visitor/guest in this country don't like us celebrating America the don't attend the celebration. If you are offended by what goes on in this country, there is a easy solution. You know you don't have to stay. If you are a child you are stuck for a while, but in a relatively short period of time your parents option will be open to you.
