good points. He has to provide some real policy solutions. While the media has been focused on him, the other candidates have no real airtime. As Paul put it, over the last 10 days, TRump got about 1 B in free media coverage. Now a Trump is an expert at getting attention. Let's see if he can hold onto it. I saw an old talk by Crichton at the Press Corp dinner. It was an eloquent speech basically calling all journalists to task for not giving people what they really wanted in news. One thing he mentioned was how they question the Press secretary or politicians. They always frame their questions in such a way that the politician can give a yes or no answer. The point is, most of these issues have many components to policy that must be addressed. to give a yes or no question, may simplify for the audience, but they don't end up gaining much knowledge from the question asked.

I fully expect Trump to do his best at being a gentleman. He certainly will push back hard if the wrong buttons are pushed. I honestly believe that most of his support comes from those who appreciate a man willing to fight back when pushed into a corner. I await hearing the responses and positions from all on the stage but we all must remember that what is said and what positions are claimed during campaigns are for the most part just meaningless blather. I have to consider in my personal life that those who lie to me or don't do as they said they would are quickly written off.

By now Trumps is aware of what Limbaugh said.
So he just may do the opposite just for the hell of it.

I think Trump is his own rascally wabbit.
Who can buy a billionaire? Multi, I may add.

Donald Trump simply must explain why he has changed his mind from policy positions he once held, and company he once kept and supported. But everyone can change his mind with a good-enough reason. Consider Henry Rearden.

That's a good point. Trump is very much like Ross Perot when he ran. If he doesn't get the nomination, he could easily match Perot's 12% as an independent.

interesting train of thought. . he sure has created a zone of calm
for everyone else, now, for weeks. . a good imagination experiment:::
if he cruised along like this, all the way to the eve of the convention ...
and then suddenly dropped out, who would get his loyalists??? -- j

I still think that Trump is the 'rabbit' for someone(s). He gets out in front of the field and becomes the target and disrupts others' strategies and also lets his someone(s) pass a little more calmly or less damaged through the danger zones.

I'm not advocating Trump as my favorite. I'd like to see Rand Paul or possible Scott Walker. Most of the others will just decide how much bigger to grow the government.

    I sure don't want Bush.

But the question was "What do you expect." He's not dumb, I expect him to build on his position.

I am hoping Trump veers the debate off into areas outside the field's comfort zones.

telling. How many NYers did he screw for his crony deals in Manhattan? Las Vegas? When he openly pushed Obamacare (or are we calling it single payer system now to distance himself from the dems which he is one). He is an outspoken protectionist. I watch what people do, less about what they say

Trump is in the enviable position that all he has to do is be reasonable to come out a really big winner.

With 10 people, no one is going to get into much detail, he needs to show he is confident and in control of himself and people will start to say, "You know maybe ..."

One change in three Trump makes a complete ass of himself.

Two in three that he comes out of it relatively unscathed and maintains his lead, for now at least.
