Asia looks set to mop the floor with the western welfare states. As in golf, winning the international political, economic, and military competition is often a matter of making fewer mistakes than your competitors. Every country in Asia has its flaws, many egregious, but at this juncture, they are much better positioned to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the twenty-first century.
