I feel really sorry for the franchise owners as they probably don't have a say what corporate HQ is forcing on them.

Social media is deluged with people pledging boycott.

As for me, I really like Subway, but I can't give my money to the Ruling Class Aristocracy of Pull Approved Fast Food.

I wonder if the franchisees can file a class action lawsuit against Corporate HQ.

You go into the franchise and talk to the manager or preferably the owner and indicate that you are a past customer but will not be frequenting their business so long as this ad campaign is going on. Enough people do that and the word will get back to corporate fast.
Just boycotting, although it eventually gets the message through, is too indirect. Tell them. They deserve to know.

You just brought up something I've been pondering. I live in a very small town and I choose to support local businesses when ever possible. My Subway of course is a franchise..do I punish the franchisee by withholding my trade because of something corporate decided that I don't agree with? Yes.

Way to ruin my appetite... That sack lunch is sounding better all the time. :) Too bad really... as you and RMP have pointed out, why should the franchisee suffer. If I owned one I would not post the ads...
