I'm confused. Aren't Dems supposed to be altruistic? Considering the extremely high rate of unemployment, shouldn't she sacrifice one of her jobs for the good of the collective?

/end sarcasm. Unfortunately, this behavior is rampant in NM.

    If they lady was a republican would the mayor be trying to apply city law? I doubt it. To be clear, I'm a conservative Republican, but right is right and wrong is wrong and the mayor is wrong. A court ruled, and I think correctly. Why waste city (read that the citizens) money.

      You don't think paying her for two jobs, and ultimately two retirements, is wasting citizens' money? I do.

        Sorry. I've been corrupter by living in New Jersey for almost 30 years. We have state employees and elected officials receiving up to 5 retirement payments, all endorsed by the state laws and regulations.
        The thought of someone only receiving two seemed almost inconsequential. (Just kidding, no one should receive multiple pensions from the state it is that it is so common here that most don't even think about it or try to get several themselves
