Predator drone used against American on US soil

The worst thing is he is going to the slam from not allowing the cops to invade his property. Oh, and the original charges were dropped, so everything he is convicted of is a result of the government instigating the situation.

I do believe the use of the military on US soil is unconstitutional.

  Using the Army to enforce the law is against the law due to the Posse Comitatus act (from a long time ago - I forget the year) except under specific conditions. Using the Navy or the Marines would not be technically against the law. I don't know about the Air Force as I don't think it existed when that law was passed.

The difference is that a drone can fly much higher than a chopper and be less likely to be seen on the ground. "Terrorizing" seems like a weird charge, resisting arrest or interfering with law enforcement seems more appropriate. Nevertheless, these people don't sound like they are playing with a full deck. Why risk your family getting shot over a cow-snatching charge?

Hm. I'm trying to see how using drones is different from using manned helicopters...

This is just Waco and Ruby Ridge again, just with less tragic outcome.

Not to start another topic, but the situation is a lot like the Ruby Ridge mess with Randy Weaver.. The case started oout because Mr. Weaver would not infiltrate a local militia group and spy on them. Having refused everything went down hill. The result is history and very sad history at that. Just like this poor gentleman.
