"add bunch of feelings and emotions and things get off-track quickly"
It's very hard to avoid. "Wait this one's out of spec, but it came from a lot done after my corrective action was implemented. I'd better run the test again to be sure."

it is my experience that a rational, logical approach to problems and issues yields clear results or identifies fairly quickly where there is a lack of knowledge or information. Add in a bunch of feelings and emotions and things get off-track quickly.

When you start with an ideology, e.g. the "left", it's easy to test hypotheses consistent with the ideology. You may not test other hypotheses.

The test merely explained what is obvious. Most problems and their solutions are obvious. There is not a complicated and complex depth to solving straight ward ills. But a common rant on the left is that problems are so complex we cannot address them straightforwardly. We cannot explain solutions to regular people and the right, talking in " black and white" are anti intellectual so unfit to address any problems we face such as poverty.
