So, this happened this morning. (Monday, July 20th)

The names of the victims have just been release.
One was the owner.
Met him a couple of times, he was a nice man.

The suspect is on the loose.
And Cheyenne is in the middle of its annual two-week Western/Rodeo blowout "Frontier Days".

The PD and FBI were searching freight trains this afternoon (Cheyenne's a RR hub).

Wow, unnerving. I know you pack, but still, watch your back. Stay safe, Eud. Hopefully this creep will be caught soon.

I always felt safe in Cheyenne. We lived next to the Prosecutor at the time, and he was always packin', weekend or not. Oh, I remember those CFD parades, sitting on straw, or walking behind the horses!

Do they suspect a particular person yet? Or are the media just misusing the word "suspect" again?

My very first reaction came with the question: Another murder by a Hispanic illegal?
Time will tell should the killer be caught.

I heard but can't confirm that the owner kept a shotgun behind the counter but couldn't get to it in time.

    Hello Eudaimonia,
Sad story. Were the victims armed themselves. If not, why not? If they weren't did that make them a soft target? "Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six." Regardless a real shame. Hopefully they will catch the perp. soon.
    Stay safe.

Damn. That's so sad. I know exactly where that coin shop is: I bought there frequently. wow. I think that's the 1st murder in Cheyenne in a long time. I believe there was one murder there, just as I moved there in summer of 2000.

Enjoy the Season Of The Flies. But don't worry, they'll leave when CFD is over. :)

I wonder what, if anything, the crook/murderer got away with. If he is loaded down with gold/silver might not get far. If trying to run or trying to peddle coinage......what an idiot.

On the other hand if he just unloaded the cash register of fiat money and left all the gold and silver alone....what an idiot.
