So a "technical glitch" shuts down United Airlines and the NYSE on the same day. I'm trying to think what kind of conspiracy theories will start to surface.
One person interviewed said it was "configuration" issues. Sounds like Microsoft to me, or maybe Oracle. Neither run all that smoothly when updating. I actually had a brief issue this morning, had to adjust settings from some update. Everyday, I get the message to update to Win 10 FREE - right, I have heard about that one.
Absolutely. Not sure how many choices we have left to fight back. Not many differences in the Presidential candidates and our current disaster has a lot of time left.
Ha, thanks. Since I wrote my first comment I did find news articles about United. I have a little insight into cyber security from my profession, and the attacks are happening relentlessly every day. We hear next to nothing about them. Many reasons for companies and governments to hide or misrepresent the actual events too. So assuming it was a cyber attack is a most likely common cause IMO.
This administration has no credibility. I'm guessing they think it will cause panic and fear if they tell the truth. So few people are paying attention I doubt it would matter.
Hi Brett. A technical glitch caused United to ground all flights yesterday morning. Feel free to wander on my threads. I like to just roll with it. :-)
It is but they had such a huge upside run this could have been explained as normal. The one one thing our market seems to hate is uncertainty and with this reaction they are creating a lot of that.
Can I please get a clarification from you, richrobinson? Your title today I thought referred to the shutdown of the NYSE today (July 8, 2015). The official explanation of technical glitches is definitely suspicious given the Chinese crash in progress. Did something happen today with United Airlines too? Or, why are other comments going back to 9/11? I could give you many more anomalies about that but it seems a departure in the thread. Thanks for some elaboration.
The mainstream media and the Zero administration have said that there is no connection between the United Airlines and the NYSE technical glitches on the same day. What would have been the odds of two completely separate "technical glitches" on the same day before today? I don't buy it.
It's a bit more than a normal correction, Rich. But I agree that the reaction seems to be a Chinese fire drill. (Sorry. I couldn't resist.). I think it's exacerbated by the powers-that-be are being presented with evidence that a planned economy won't work along with free capital markets and they can't get their heads around it. I only hope that the powers-that-be here in the States are taking notes. After all, we're headed down the road to a planned economy ourselves.
A melt down in China would be huge. I agree that the reaction in China has been strange. It seems like a normal correction but they are treating as a full blown financial crisis.
