This is a simple case of murder. Stand your ground laws have nothing to do with pursuing a person. They have to do with being able to defend yourself without having to run away.

That said I regret that I clicked on the link and gave that liberal crap website one more hit. LOL

I'm from Madison, WI but lived in FL for twenty years, and really don't care for FL.

Are you posting this as a criticism of the Stand Your Ground law? It says even the police didn't think it applied. The problem is with the judge's decision. Human institutions will always make occasional mistakes.

Stand your ground may have gotten notoriety, but it had nothing to do with the Trayvon Martin case.

"According to statements by Smith’s girlfriend, Angela Kemraj, to police, the incident started when she saw a man in the yard on surveillance cameras and reported it to Smith. She said they saw the individual in dark clothes and a hoodie leaving their yard without anything in his hands, and climbing over the fence to a neighboring apartment complex. Smith then left the apartment and climbed over the fence. Two minutes later, Kemraj said she heard gunshots."

Works for me. Think of it as evolution in action.
