We knew it was going to happen, just not how soon. I'm sick to my stomach right now, and there is not a thing we can do to stop it unles we go up in arms against the oppressors of our Constitution...

They are testing the Americans. If no one stands up, (this might mean actual pulling out the weapons in self-defense) this country is over with. BTW, Ovomit is following what Hitler did in the mid to late 1930's by putting MORE POWER into the hands of the quacks. We are witnessing history repeating itself. I hope & pray it never happens where I'm at, but if it ever does, I already know what I'm prepared to do. If they can come in and take your firearms, what then will prevent them from coming back and taking MORE of your stuff out? I would include family members too. And without firearms how will someone stop them? Don't make me LOL if someone answers back "lawsuit" ~ they own the courts.

I will die standing, I will not be on my knees. So Help me God.

One of the other issues with this is, the Dr. never called this in, it was someone else in the office. I'm of the opinion it's someone with a grudge against the guy. And there in lies a very serious problem with this whole premise. Say you're going through a nasty divorce, and your soon to be ex is feeling vindictive. He or she can issue a restraining order against you, and, BOOM!! Your guns are GONE. And for 5 years they're gone, before you can reapply for a permit. This whole registry shit is just the overlords finding out who the threats to their totalitarian govt are.

Exactly right... it is a test to see what people will do. The State of Maryland is requiring a $300.00 permit to have a gun, if you take that gun out of the state to hunt or go to a range for firing practice, you can't bring it back into the state. For the ones who don't get the permit, confiscation starts in January.... The NRA is in court in NY and has vowed to fight the MD law also, but like you said, there is no real justice. Our Constitution is being challenged, and it is the only thing that will save us from tyranny.... Stand and Fight...it will be our last chance.

Mary Land: what a croc of BS. Smart people will start dealing with firearms "underground": it's what communism does to business.

No doubt... did you think it would happen this fast? You have given me great insight on the real enemy... it is all around us...now, our right to defend ourselves is being stolen from us.... the sheep will follow.... I will not. I look at how great our country could be and it makes me sick to see what has happened to it.

They can't confiscate it if I sold it off at a gun show. ;)

Not... I have been to the legislature fighting these added gun grabbing bills and have a carry permit, No doubt I am at the top of the list. Have already told my police chief here in town, I hope you don't think you are getting my guns... he agreed with me, it isn't going to do anything to change the mentally ill, which is not the purpose of the bill anyway.

If you sell it off they won't HAVE to confiscate it...you will have removed it, from you, for them.

This comment is surely meant to be taken as how one will reply to the authorities, not what was actually done...

I know...and I think it's avoiding the authorities and making their job of confiscation easy...why make it easy?? It's also giving up your arms....not really taking a stand....but you're right it IS what most weaklings will probably do. I'm with Kathy...stand and fight.

OK, think this out ... when the time comes, Where are your guns, you say I sold them, they know that isn't true and will be expecting that answer from those that have stood up. Even if they did, how could you ever use it for a defense after that. You are eventually going to have to make that choice. Then it will be remembered for the rest of your life..whether it is 10 seconds or 10 years... it will be your choice. I am feeling like everyone that is afraid to say anything at this point is making that final choice a reality.

I agree. Because it will be like the gunfight at the OK Corral. I'm thinking those to whom this issue matters, need to become extremely proactive. But don't forget about the first ammendment post I made regarding the secret service, and how it's at their discretion if they feel a protest is dangerous. Or threatening. You can be arrested at their whim.

Yes, if you don't agree with them, you are a threat. If you are preparing for hard times, storing food and ammo, you are a threat, if you believe in taking care of your own children, you are a threat, if you don't work for the government, you are a threat.... who knows what else they will conjure up....do you think children are taught The Battle of Bunker Hill cry in school today?

You are going to have to because if they want to take it, you have no choice but to shoot.... there is NO other choice... I have heard it said that in other countries, during confiscation, there were no shots fired. I believe you just didn't hear about them....

"...go up in arms against the oppressors of our Constitution..." Honestly Bud, doesn't sound like a bad idea.
Edit. For those of you who think that our "Gov" will do everything fairly? HA! they can use this and say "you are not fit to own a gun" to anyone they deem necessary. This is opening the doors for disaster!

Medical personnel are "mandated reporters" and are already required to contact authorities if someone, in their opinion, "represents a danger to themselves or others". In most states, they are authorized to detain you or have you hospitalized long enough for a mandatory psychiatric examination. This has long proven a gold mine for certain "residential treatment centers" which filed rubber-stamped commitment papers on anyone who had insurance and locked them up "for their own good".

See "The Profits Of Misery", by Patricia Schroeder, issued in 1992 as a report to Congress (and now, sadly, difficult to find). The American people should have been fighting civil commitment laws for decades.
