It's time. Principal photography for the final installment of the Atlas Shrugged trilogy, “Who is John Galt?”, begins on Monday, January 20th.

And... Galt's Gulch Online Producers will be joining us on set for a live stream of the first call of “Action!”

That's right. On day one, we’ll be live streaming activity right from the set of Atlas Shrugged. This sneak peek behind the curtain will be exclusively available to Galt’s Gulch Producers.       There is NOW... at least for us producers... THe question now... Some of the local Cabernet, or perhaps, in honor of the producers, MAker's instead!

      Congratulations on the momentous occasion... and the anticipation builds!

    Also try and use practixal VFX. Use miniatures where possible instead of CGI.The CGI of the plane chase and the train sequence in the second film was just bloody awful.

      The CGI on Dagny's plane looked low res and unfinished to me. The CGI on Galt's plane looked pretty sweet, if you ask me :-) I wonder if they just ran out of time?

        CGI generally looks bad anyway. They did a reasonable job on the first film, but they made the mistake of doing some shots that could not have been filmed if it were "real", betraying the illusion. But the CG trains with the very flat lit windows on the coaches in the second film were really bad. I mean REALLY bad. If they'd hired a good model maker and someone who knows how to light and film them, they'd really have something there. Look at "Skyfall". or most of the Bond films done since the 1970's They use miniatures in all of them are absolutely invisible as effects. Oddly, the airplane chase in "Quantum Of Solace" looked terrible, but those were CG aircraft. Bet you can't tell what was done as a miniature in Skyfall.

          CG is getting better all the time, though the good stuff might still be too pricey for the budget.

          One of my gripes was the speeding train scenes where the train was going impossibly fast for the radii of the curves it was taking. In any kind of "reality," those would have needed to be banked turns! Sorry, but my engineering glands kicked in during those sequences, and I still loved the movies and I'm really anticipating III !

            The film "Moon" proved thjat good FX don't need to cost a lot of dough. Moon used the right balance of miniatures and CG to great effect. It was a full feature film and cost only $5 million to make just a few years ago. Bill Pearson was the modelmaker in that and the miniatures were flawless and very inexpensive. The problem is that most directors today don't know how to economize and get the best bang for the buck. Doing Good FX doesn't need a lot of money, just a lot of talent.

    This will be very interesting. I've never even been close to a movie set. I give a big WELL DONE to all involved in making the event happen.
    Yes, I know it hasn't happened yet, but the work going into setting it up deserves the well done. :)

    Get Elia Cmiral to do the music. Have him use the same style and themes as in the first film please. Best piece of music in the whole series is in the first film when they do the train run. The John Galt Theme on the piano was also wonderful. Very disappointed that wasn't carried overr into the second film.

    Here's a suggestion to the producers of the movie:

    At some point during the movie, John Galt should condemn the idea of collectivized ownership, and proclaim that private ownership is best for everyone.

    He should also say that in regards to participatory economics (Parecon), people already participate under a free market by voting with their dollars as to which products and companies should succeed or fail, and that turning every corporation into a democracy where any random shmuck can have a say in the operations and management is a recipe for disaster.
