    we only have an acre here, and the road out front
    has trees joining in an arch over it ... the neighbors
    are just across the road. . good friends. -- j

    I sold the home in which I grew up, from age 4 to
    college age, to pay for part of the current home.
    when "I went back," it sure was tiny!!! -- j

    Nice to have the space. I grew up mostly on 150 acres with government land on three sides and two ranches on the fourth. About two and a half miles to the house from the graveled road. Target shooting was an ongoing even and deer hunting the same way.

    Where I went hunting, the two ranches is now ten or a bit more acre housing plots, the ranches do not exist and the 150 acres belongs to a corporation down in California. The government land is still government land

    You can never go back.

    I certainly think that if you have neighbors close enough to hear, it's only good manners to tell them you're firing.

    It was nice of them to wait until morning, instead of rushing over at midnight!

    I had a rifle here awhile ago and fired two shots
    in rapid succession from the back deck into the
    ground, in the dark at about eleven p.m. ... and
    the next day, the neighbors called to ask about
    the sound. . now, I tell them in advance. -- j

    I love “I would just hope that these individuals would cease these activities in the backyard and find a more appropriate place to practice...
    If your backyard isn't a good place to practice [going with the practice how you're going to fight] idea....where the A.T.F. IS?
