I got an anonymous note printed by computer on
purple paper, once, telling me that my spare car
parked in the driveway Did Not Run and had to
be towed away. . so, I cranked it up and drove it
to my backyard. . neighborhood watch isn't so
    peculiar where I live, now. -- j

Thank you for your reply. Redundant superfluities is in fact superfluities but to and even greater degree which is then superfluities.

Personally, I'd like to live where Legal Guns were allowed, there are plenty of the other kind wherever you look!
If the politicians would quit whining about guns in general and enforce the existing laws on illegal guns we'd have a much better society.
And those with no political purpose, whining about guns, consider this: You, I, and hundreds of thousands of others are the problem, not the guns. A quick check of the mirror will verify one clear fact, we are all predators, designed originally to consume protein, fresh, raw, and bitten off. Limit your urges as I have and the world will be a better place.

    you're not the only one!
We used to live 10 minutes from a nice outdoor range [there's a hotel there now], and we were competing, so we shot 3 or 4 times a week for at least 2 hours each time. them was the days!
I want my new house to have room for a range, pistol distances at least [out to 100 yards]. We are starting to get more houses for sale advertised as "with room for your own shooting range". I read that and can at least take a deep breath.

Jan, I got to 4 minutes and had to quit. . the man
obviously has a distorted view of "protection."
if you have a gun, it should be ready to do its job
on a moment's notice, I would say. . and we should
all decline the opportunity to say what we have and
how we might use it. . well, here with the NSA
    monitoring us. -- j

unfortunately, many places are trying to make sure
that the good folks don't have guns, while it's 100
percent certain that the bad guys WILL have guns. -- j

Well, let them be that, and we sure have plenty of similar consumers of oxygen on the east coast. But when they'll need help, I'll watch...

I live in Sedona Az. many of the retiree's and new agers aka fluffy bunnies are very skidish around people who open carry. Also, in the Verde Valley as a whole is politically dominated by Democrats. These Liberals (alot from Ca. living here) can't get use to the idea that Arizona is still the Wild, Wild, West! This is not Socialist California. If they see someone open carry they'll go running into one of shops in a panic saying there is a man with a gun. They have to be told this is Arizona not California.

I have two incredibly small guns - a Taurus TCP in 380 and Smith & Wesson M&P 380 bodyguard in 380. Not as powerful as 9x19, but amazingly small. About the size of yesteryear .25's. The TCP does not have safety at all, but a long trigger pull; the M&P has thumb safety and a slightly less heavy pull. They weight just a few ounces and sell for $200. No excuse not to have one!

True, but slower than today's technology. Good reference: Massad Ayoob's "Concealed Carry." Also Boston T. Party's "Gun Bible."

The hammer can be thumbed back as you draw the pistol.
That was the proper way to draw the single action Colt Peacemaker. And other such Wild West revolvers.
I have a 1860 Colt Navy cap and ball replica. The rear sights are in the top of a fully cocked to the rear hammer.
