Yet again, point out the absurdity of a situation, and you're the cretin. The ever open-minded, tolerant left... as long as you agree with them 100%.

Forced acceptance? It is simply none of your business. No one should give a shit what your opinion of it is.

WTF? No one is redefining normal at all. People are learning there is a bit more variety in terms of gender than some thought and admitting it is not a matter of "abnormal behavior" in the sense of something pathological at all. Those are simply the facts of reality. Get over it.

Mountain out of a molehill. No one is coming down hard on him and he didn't say much.

Silly. I don't know many people who think what Bruce is doing is "normal", but many think he should be able to do what he wants. If he/she doesn't want the comments, he/she should stay in hiding. It is pretty clear he/she like the attention, so take the good with the bad.

The fact is, I could do a standup routine focused on he/she, and people would like it. Therefore, shut up about Clint.

On the other hand, Clint was a little too artistic in his Obama bash. Too bad. Clint is a great entertainer, and stalwart man.

When you get to be 85 years old, you don't care so much about what is PC. They know it's just not worth it to waste your life pretending to be something other than you are. Rand would call this integrity, honesty, or justice, and not buying into a code of morality that you don't really accept.

“Justice is the recognition of the fact that you cannot fake the character of men as you cannot fake the character of nature, that you must judge all men as conscientiously as you judge inanimate objects, with the same respect for truth” (933; P3C7).

“Honesty is the recognition of the fact that the unreal is unreal and can have no value, that neither love nor fame nor cash is a value if obtained by fraud—that an attempt to gain a value by deceiving the mind of others is an act of raising your victims to a position higher than reality, where you become a pawn of their blindness, a slave of their non-thinking and their evasions, while their intelligence, their rationality, their perceptiveness become the enemies you have to dread and flee” (932-3; P3C7).

This seems to me an opportunity for Jenner to step up in defense of the First Amendment, and remind everyone that if he had courage enough to make this change in his life (like they say he did), he certainly has enough courage to take a little good-natured ribbing.

    1. The fact that we may be forced to pay for gender reassignment is no different from our now being forced to pay for maternity benefits, even if we are men!
    2. Freedom may be tethered to morality, but not the kind of morality you are espousing, which violates people's right to do what they want ( unless it interferes with someone else's right to do the same ).Consensual incest is one of those rights!

I remember his "Clint Eastwood Makes My Day" campaign. And I remember him granting an interview on an issue facing southern California.

Actually, Clint was Mayor of Carmel CA, a very pricey liberal enclave. I lived there 3 years, moving shortly before he ran for mayor. There were rules for everything- no live music after 9pm, illegal to wear high heels, you can not trim a tree on your property, you have to call the city arborists (to be done in proper "Carmel" style)....on and on. The reason Clint ran for mayor was because they wouldn't let him put in a window in his restaurant overlooking the picturesque outdoor bar, the Hogs Breath. He ran for mayor, won, and got his window. Also, he managed to get rid of the ordinance prohibiting eating ice cream outside...they feared getting drips on the sidewalk....oh no!

Somehow I think Clint Eastwood is about as bothered by the PC Police' opinions as the Dirty Harry character would be.

I agree with your assessment that whatever someone does to themselves and to the ones they love is none of my business. My issue isn’t the act that is the problem, it that they insist in making their business public; furthermore, not only public but accepted and celebrated. His business is now my business because he has gone public with his business and I’m told that I must accept his lifestyle as normal.

In a free society, I do not have to accept someone’s lifestyle as normal or acceptable, this is my business.

Gender change is the business of others, when opinions against a labeled hate speech in an attempt to redefine normal. The majority is then made to suffer the tyranny of the majority (for example, we are now forced to pay for health insurance that covers gender reassignment, because to argue against is discriminatory). The personal choice now affects millions.

On the incest front, I'm frankly shocked that anyone would even attempt to advocate for this. Free markets (and freedom itself) must be tethered to morality, or it will go the way of the Dodo.

Exactly. I cannot really imagine these folks endorsing a law that says, "Society has a right to control the sexual habits of consenting adults."

Perhaps people are reacting to their personal preferences and the projecting their emotions. I certainly have 'my own' preferences, but it is no concern of mine what other folks do - within the stated parameters.

    Thank you for your response.

Jan, you sound like the only objectivist in this discussion! Gender change and incest are no business of anybody else.

I love Clint Eastwood's stand on conservatism. And to those who don't like what he has to say, i say "Hate On".

Wanting to change his/her hardware is not brave. Doing it is not brave. Doing it even though it's going to result in people like you spewing hate *is* brave.

What business is it of yours?

The left are absolutely correct to expect us to treat LGBT people as normal. But they ought to be able to take a joke like this one. Phooey on both sides.

Then we are at an impasse. I have no problem with your disagreeing with me.

I also have no problem with incest, plural marriages, and a lot of other things that I regard as 'no business of anyone but the participants'.

Eastwood's remark was hardly even a joke. Banning such innocuous words by the PC Police illustrates how far we have fallen in the desecration of the English language. If this keeps up, language will be reduced to using only words and phrases as bland as fat free lactose free, milk.
One more leftist stupidity to rage against.

You have no problem with incest... uh what???

I think we've officially jumped the shark here. If we're at a point where there's not even agreement on the fact that incest is anathema, we're at an impass.

100% right... doesn't matter though. You either genuflect at the alter of the left (no matter the issue), or you're a racist/bigot/homophobe.

Similarly, it's impossible to disagree with Obama's policies on substantive, intellectual level. You either support him, or you're a racist.
