I don't evil is evil by any other quantity sticks to me, there are ALWAYS other choices and one is self respect. No Gump was a good choice. Along with We Were Soldiers the only honest Vietnam movies. the third one I''ve ever seen that made the category and then only after talking to some currently serving in the same unit people was American Sniper. The rest are entertainment or trash. Trash is easy to tell. Just look at the list of actors. So is evil. My only fear is the ''notion'' of voting will be ''fundamentally'' gone as a result of continually choosing evil. And yes I include the GOP along with the Democrats - comes from a certain smell about 50 years old with few bright spots along the way.The smell is called One Party system of government. It doesn't go well with my idea of responsible citizenship.
I meant to infer that a totally unqualified person would be better than Obama. Perhaps Forest Gump was not a good choice.I agree that replacing evil with evil is wrong, unless you go by "Of two evils, choose the lesser."
Of course. the other option is work for crooked employers who use them to artificially depress wages in exchange for profit with the assistance of a crooked government. The name for that just put one dude in jail for life. But it's not a straight shot to La Raza. Some get caught, charged, given a court date and paroled or is it release on own recognizance or what ever. Average wage for high school and sometimes above educated people in Mexico is 1000 to 1200 pesos per two weeks at six days a week.
Can't say as I blame them. But then I can look at those who keep voting the same evil back into office expecting, foolishly expecting some sort of miracle and ...wonder any more if I should blame anyone when the majority of those who vote are so willing to embrace evil.
I have more sympathy to someone who attempted the effort to cross the desert and failed trying than those who refused responsibility.
I don't agree with replacing evil with evil but I also don't agree Forest Gump would be a bad choice. One of the only two worthwhile Vietnam movies it had a measure of honesty throughout. From what I've seen of the current crop the troops today have one. Can't elect that guy he was killed.
I wouldn't even mind so much if they came across and melded into the fabric of our society. But it would seem that their first stop is the local La Raza office where they get directions to the local welfare office, in Spanish of course.
there are a number of people here who have no interest in any slow turn to this battleship of a nation, which might have been possible with Romney. . the likelihood of a sharp turn is small, short of revolution or the secession-and-re-solidification trick in "my book." . I just have to try the best I can, for as long as I have left to vote, myself. -- j .
It would be great if everyone who realized what a disaster Obama was and how worse Hillary would be and got behind Carson as well as the conservatives, he would get the nomination and win the election. Unfortunately, reality is not a 1930s movie.
Herb, he would work well because he understood creation and production and the role of government, before he went to the Gulch. I liked him just for that. I wish AS3 had done more with him.
Nice. I like him because out of the 10 or 12 times I have seen him on Fox, he has not done the "Republicans are right" rant. He has cooly and calmly discussed the issue and what is right for the people, in accordance with the Constitution. He actually references it. You rarely, if ever, hear that from a politician. That is why I take him to be a reluctant politician, who is holding his nose to try to do something to fix things. Although I dare say you are both probably right about him winning.
Actually, in those days, if they were caught after simply crossing, (not for crimes) they were taken to a large holding facility next to EP airport, ID`d, photographed, fed and put on a bus that went to the penny bridge to Juarez and watched to be certain they crossed back into Mexico. Times have changed, I would guess the penny bridge, now isn`t a penny and I`ll bet those bus`s now run to a government center that provides instruction on how to sign up for a myriad of benefits, as well as a cell phone with a pre -programmed number to report anyone who is mean to you. As to what I want? Simple, "... it neither breaks my leg, nor picks my pocket..", If it does one, or both - retribution.
ANYTHING including Romney was better than a lame duck Obama with nothing to lose. I would have voted for Forest Gump instead of Obama. The fact that we elected him twice makes me crazy.
Romney made several tactical mistakes in his campaign. The first one was trying to be a nice guy, which he is. He pulled his punches after the first debate on the advice from his campaign manager, which was a mistake, as he OWNED Obama in that first debate. In the others, he came off as weak-kneed because he refused to hammer on the same points that made the first debate such a blowout.
The other problem Romney faced was ballot box-stuffing, which was rampant in a couple of key states like Ohio. While it looked like a huge blowout, if you look at the county-by-county tallies, the race was actually MUCH closer than the final Electoral College tally.
Having worked at HP during Fiorina's tenure, I won't vote for her. She drove Lucent Technologies into the ground and then HP. She's not a producer. If you want to know more, I'll go into details.
Common Core Math? Is that arithmetic? Gotta love the education system never use one word when three will do. Back to your chain of thought. Of the thousand they catch look at the figures for those turned over to immigration and from there how many are put on parole awaiting trial and turned loose to how many show up in court.
Democrats want votes Republicans want cheap labor Union wants the $15 minimum wage in the face of artificially depressed wages. Jöe citizen wants his one dollar hamburger.
Somebody isn't going to get what they want
Pick one.
Where have all the prices gone - long time passing.
Completely agree. To make a comparison the southern border of Mexico is very well guarded. Why? They don't want the competition in crossing the northern border.
= Republican =member of Government Party =left wing socialist corporatist
= sorry. I don't support the part comrade.
ANY member of the Government Party is a non-starter unless you want same old same old same old same old 50 years plus of chances means 50 years of consistent failures
The more things don't change the more they get worse.
I am also a Carson fan. If he gets the nomination, I think he could win. I doubt, however, that he'll get the nomination. Stranger things have happened, though. Barak Obama got elected -- Twice!
As an aside: I just learned that Barak in Hebrew means lightening. That S.O.B., contrary to lore, DID strike twice.
Time will tell. Our last candidate turned out to be a wimp. I peripherally know the Romneys and he always impressed me as a strong smart leader. Go figure.
Herb, the problem is, and has been, you can never tell who a person of integirty is today. With all the media slanting and manipulation, you have very little good information and even then, the 2 parties start slandering them the moment they get on the radar. I like Ben Carson, he is quiet, well articulated and has 10 times the comonsense of any politician.
