I recall working with a prison officer nicknamed "Preacher," who preached in a little country church somewhere on Sunday mornings.
He was one of those frustrating souls who would contend that all such photos were fake.
He would laugh at me when I would argue that there was indeed a moon landing.
I recall telling him to never say that to Buzz Aldrin unless he wanted his face punched.
Then after a couple of years of such conversations, he said some ignorant something about the sun that led to me explaining that Earth went around the sun, the moon went around the Earth, that Earth was the third planet in the solar system and that the sun was but a star in a huge pinwheel galaxy.
    His response?
"I must have missed class that day in school."
Guess it's good we never discussed dinosaurs.

The pics are amazing. Only a handful of humans have seen the earth as a globe rather than streteched out below them. The space shuttle doesn't go high enough.

I was born in '75. No one has gone that far during my life.

I hope in my lifetime we see people do it again, maybe for mining, colonoization, or zero-gee manufacturing processes and ressearch.
