So, the screenwriters for this project will essentially be doing the same job as Winston in 1984?

Hysterical.

They took over my party - what did you expect?
This is half of America right now.
A few of us stayed in the party to fight the socialism.
The rest of you finally caught on and are starting to get a backbone and fight back.

The Socialist Party of America even stated their goals openly: Use the Democratic Party as their face to America and crash capitalism so it can be replaced.

You folks are aware, but how are you going to wake up the rest of them without being painted "evil capitalists"?

Marxists are nothing if not relentless. The only question is whether those of us who believe in individual rights, private property, and capitalism can be just as, nay more, dedicated in defending and promoting our principles over time as they are.

"A family film"? "Animal Farm"? Heaven help us.

Has anyone seen the British animated film of "Animal Farm"? It more or less follows the book, until the ending. At which point the animals get warm and fuzzy and bring the farmer back.

Not a bad metaphor for Russia during the past century, actually.

Wow. Thanks for the link. I would have been looking forward to said film had I not been warned.

I wish they'd make Fallen Angels into a movie, but after what happened to Starship Troopers, I don't see Pournelle, Niven or Flynn cooperating in any way to make it.

*Maybe* if the folks making Atlas Shrugged were to approach them... *hint hint*.
