This is happening in a few hours roughly 15 miles from my home. This is a litmus test for Islam. When you come to this country YOU conform to our ways. If you cannot be tolerant and you insist on using violence in the name of your deity and your traditions then go back to where you came from. The Constitution is the ONLY law of this land.

I hope things don't get ugly, but I suspect it will.

This was a litmus test for islam in America. Can islam live in a society where their feelings and beliefs are dumped on regularly without becoming savages? While yesterday showed that they can be tolerant, keep a mindful eye on those who attended and see if islam will reach out after the camera's have gone. Welcome to America islam, your beliefs are equal to everyone else's beliefs - deal with it maturely and let it pass, no one here cares what you believe until you try to impose it on others. If you can't do that, if you can't abide by the sole rule of this land - the Constitution, then get the hell out.

The press coverage from local media was atrocious, focusing on "armed" "anti-islam" protesters. All of the news outlets, even the local FOX affiliate, and the mayor tried to play both sides presenting how islam was being provoked. Shameful exhibition. But ANOTHER lawful and peaceful assembly by Americans exercising their Rights.

I suppose the Koran thumpers thought better of it.

Given their odds, I would have to conclude that they're brighter than they look.

I totally agree. In particular about "hoping" it doesn't get ugly. i.e., violent. But if it does, just wait for the "blame the bikers" meme on the MSM...
