Same here. We spend part of the year in different areas of the country and I've not seen so much mil equipment moving since the gulf war build up. I don't trust this guy a inch. He is at his core a socialist or at least a statist and the step from there to self appointed "King" is a small one.

You had better believe that he wants to take guns away from civilians, particularly those weapons that give the shooter any advantage in a combat scenario. That's what all the push against AR's has been.

Then you add to his inbred socialist ideals a desire to be king, his firing any General who opposes him, his push to ban guns, his takeover of healthcare (ie death panels), his detruction of heavy industry through the EPA and other alphabet soup agencies, his directing the NSA to spy on us at unprecedented levels and he is one very, very dangerous individual to our liberty.

Feel free. Another option might be "A man with a gun is a citizen, a unarmed man is a servant.

Euda, I'm aghast that any rational human being would go and get in line for this?!? The sheeple are going to the slaughter house with their eyes wide open, and yet do not see. I do not intend to follow down that path!
Glad to know your property is out of the grasping claws of the tyrants. I may have to get the family on board for a move west.

These people are real stupid. This is how Germany was able to disarm the people in 1937. BTW, none of the people murdered at Newtown were shot with an assult rifle, it was hand guns.

THAT is my fear as well. I do quite a bit of driving and have noticed military equipment movements seem to be increasing along the interstates. Just sayin'.

Well since Obama has his personal army, it's just a matter of time when he'll expect everyone to turn in our guns. He doesn't respect the Constitution or what it stands for. He doesn't even care that he can't run again, by that time he'll declare marshal law and declare himself "King" it's just a small step. Why do you think the DHS has bought 2 billion rounds of ammo and 3000armored vehicles.

Damn, the last statement in your post simply blew me away. So simple and precise. Can I borrow it? Thanks.

Do these places always have to be in the coldest part of the country? Just sayin'. Warm is good, too.

I thought for this esteemed audience that the "crime" of illegally carrying without a permit would be a given and not pertinent to the argument.

"it's absolutely amazing how few of them commit crimes" Although of course, we cannot include crimes which are victimless, such as illegally carrying concealed. That one is actually a crime committed by the legislature, strictly speaking.... it wasn't a crime until the lawmakers did something.

I'm not sure where she was buried, but the (more properly) wake and service were right down the street.
Right down the street along with a good number of angry people (including a local motorcycle club) who lined the main street in order to protect the funeral home from the fuckputzes from The Westboro Baptist Church.
You have to understand what a truly small and quiet New England town I live in to appreciate what a circus that was.
I refused to leave my house that day because I didn't even want to deal with it.

Westboro, BTW, saw the crowd of angry people and didn't even get out of their cars.

On gun ownership. The founders knew that technology changed. They knew that rockets were part of artillery where they hadn't been some years before and they certainly knew that arms would improve. they didn't need to know there would be machine guns and assault weapons exactly but they knew that weaponry would improve. They didn't want any advanced weaponry in the hands of government only because with those weapons, the government could impose tyranny on its subjects. They always thought that militias would be an active part of any military force in addition to a professional army and they wanted the militias armed on par with the military thus blunting any effort to impose tyrany. Unfortunately, we have a president who has usurped the intent and the letter of the constitution and has decided that he's so popular that he can rule as a dictator. Just like all dictators, some things seem to work but overall, policies fail time after time.

The tea rtax that started all the uproar seems like a paltry amount. It was something like $.03 per pound. Doesn't seem like much does it? But tea came baled and it is difficult to know exactly how much each bale weighed including wrappings and such.. Say each bale weighed 100 pounds. It seems like a measly $3 but tea might have cost $.14 or $.15 per pound and it may have been more. Let's say $.15 because it's convenient. That's $15 per hundred pounds and the tax would have been 1/5 or 20% of the total cost. /there is a new requirement to register long-giuns in CA. The gun owner must pay for a background check and you can't register more than one gun per check unless they are considered obsolete military collectibles. There is a tax on each registration to be used for "efforts to control the spread and use of guns." I belong to the NRA and GOA and am an opponent of any gun control laws for anyone not convicted of a felony that includes violence towards another person. Everyone else should be free to own bazookas and rocket launchers if he or she want. There should be no restrictions on automatic weapons or weapons of any sort. Of course, if you commit a crime with one of your weapons, you lose them all.

If you go to Los Angeles, and go into an indoor range, you will see lots of women of every age and ethnic make up. A lot of women carry concealed in spite of laws against it and it's absolutely amazing how few of them commit crimes involving weapons.

I think that CA will be the first state to initiate searches for unregistered weapons. It will start in San Francisco or a surrounding small city that is very liberal. Then it will expand. Some years back 1999, I was driving through San Francisco and there were ads on the radio advising people to turn in assault weapons because they were no longer legal in CA. They got about 1 M of them which totally blew me away. People have no idea what they are giving up. Remember 1937 Hitler initiated gun confiscation to "Insure Public Safety." The Jews sure benefited from that.

all of the weapons used in those killings were legally registered. This law is hypocritical. It would not have changed anything. Yet still it imposes itself on good citizens and arguably infringes on our rights. TO NO ACTUAL EFFECT!

Absolute Sheep. There is something insidious about a group who justify this stuff... the one guy who was registering his guns saying "I don't think this is constitutional" but is registering his guns... another saying "They just want to know where they are, which is a good thing..." as he's standing in line...

Words that should be grounds for impeachment - "we've got to do something".

It always is a prompt for liberal, socialistic politicians to violate the freedoms of honest citizens.

I lived in Lawton for a while and really liked OK, but that was a year when tornadoes were particularly bad. I haven't been able to get my wife back, even when I wasn't just going to be at Ft. Sill for a few months.

Really, I'd pick OK if she'd go with me. :)

No, the funeral home which hosted the funeral for the principal at Sandy Hook is at the end of my street.
