Remember back when welfare included the ignominy of food stamps. Well now we just pass out cash....and those heartless Republicans in Kansas have the temeretry to cut down the daily spending money to bought and paid for Democrat voters. The funniest part of the article was that in the new law.."The law also prohibits spending public-assistance cash at movie theaters, swimming pools, and video arcades. Nail salons and tattoo parlors are out, too." geese...you don't think these welfare scum were buying things like that with the money of the workers and producers do yo!

I remember seeing a customer at a grocery store submit food stamps when I was a kid and thought that person ought to be embarrassed. The embarrassment is now gone because the shape of the card is now the same as anyone else's credit or debit card.

I was at the Delchamps Grocery store in Mobile Al in 1983 on my first job out of college when I started understanding the food stamp program. I was the Supervisor of investigations for Pinkertons detective agency at the time. I had a $150.00 per month apartment and not much money....I think I was making $12,000 a year. I had in one hand a packet of chicken dogs and a bag of bread...because regular bread was cheaper than hot dog buns. In front of me was this enormous fat frigging woman with a grocery cart fillet to the brim with groceries....it was actually groaning under the weight of the groceries. The child seat compartment of the cart was filled with the nicest steaks I had ever seen. This fat slob was running her fingers over the steaks and flipping through them like dealing cards while she waited her turn. She was obviously thinking about how nice they were going to taste...I know I was! Once she finished getting rung up she produced her food stamp booklet and "tossed" it at the clerk like a rich person would toss a valet a dollar tip.

No these welfare scum managed to get past the supposed shame of the food stamps just fine.....Not that I have been bitter.....or nursed my hatred toward these moochers like a viper all these years as a result.

Poverty is the summation of a set of bad choices by do-nothings like the welfare scum you described.

Francisco d'Anconia had a few fitting lines for this post:

"Try to obtain your food by means of nothing but physical motions–and you’ll learn that man’s mind is the root of all the goods produced and of all the wealth that has ever existed on earth."

"Let me give you a tip on a clue to men’s characters: the man who damns money has obtained it dishonorably; the man who respects it has earned it."

I loved when Ms. Rand referred to such people as moochers and, even better, rotters.
