We actually had quite a few requests from older fans wanting to show the film to their grandchildren and teachers wanting to show their students, asking for the love scene the be trimmed down. The love scene was essentially edited down to an implication. That's the major change.

WHY have they made the G rating (believe ASI was "R" rated) ... how much "editing was done? ... AND if editing was done, doesn't that directly contradiction of the entire "Rand" philosophy? Mouch Lives!!

The problem is that AS3 was a terrible movie, by current standards. The actors werent very good, and there were a lot of shortcuts taken in the name of cost containment- like the colorado license plates on the SUV's tooling around Atlantis. There would be NO need for plates in a place hidden from the statist government. Also, how did they get the cars, refrigerators, building materials, etc. to this place that was so remote it couldnt be seen even by air. Certainly there couldnt have been a simple road that led to it...

Your points effectively contradict each other. Yes, getting building materials and appliances in more or less implies a road (probably just a dirt trail) to the Gulch. Therefore there is one, or at least there was. Naturally they wouldn't want to use it much, lest they break cover; and we can assume that the same illusion-projector that prevents the site from being seen from the air (or satellites in space) also hides the road, so a person driving in would have to know just where and how to ignore what they see.

On the other hand, somebody seeing them driving outside isn't going to figure out that the Gulch exists (so long as he doesn't see them pass through the illusion). It will look as though they're just driving to or from somebody's remote ranch. Nothing remarkable about that.

But yes, you'll want license plates, because all the vehicles are almost certainly from outside and will return there from time to time.

It caught me off guard to see the very old actors cast as Francisco and Ragnar. In the book they were in their 30's just as were Dagney and John Galt. Casting was better in parts 1 & 2. Many scenes were left out too, but I guess you can't put everything in a movie? I missed the laser madness, Francisco stepping aside when it was clear Dagney loved Galt, and a few other things. But K Polaha was amazing as John Galt and This is John Galt speech was very good!

Are you kidding? Polaha didn't project anything like the force of character Galt would have. He'd have been fine as Eddie Willers--a dedicated, competent, but otherwise average man working to the best of his ability. But of course Polaha couldn't play Willers because they'd already made Willers black.

As for the cuts, they should have left Cheryl Brooks out entirely and kept Project X in, so that the collapse of the Taggart Bridge would make sense. Instead, they said the bridge was "destroyed by regulation." Say what?! Did someone try to carry the Federal Register across and the bridge collapsed under the weight?

I think it was all about the cost of movie making. AS1 didnt get a lot of play, and they cut the budgets for 2 and 3. I had to laugh at the pickups with colorado license places, the finished houses with appliances etc. If The gulch was indeed so isolated, how did they get cars and appliances in there and why on earth would they license them with colorado license places? It just didnt make sense and killed the experience for me.
