I have done a couple of quick searches to try and find reports on this years holiday sales. I have not found anything. Has anyone seen any reports on how this seasons sales numbers are looking so far?

The 2 times I went shopping, there was no crowd. I'm also going low key this Christmas. Not going in debt for it that's for sure.

  I seem to remember in years past a weekly if not daily updates on sales figures and projections. It just seems strange to have so few stories this close to the end of the selling season.

    I have barely had the tv on in over a month...I haven't the slightest idea what stats, or even what news is happening... I rely on you guys to keep me informed. lol
    I don't think they would say sales are down...I think they'd say something like 'better than expected' and give it a positive spin. From what I can tell from most of my connections....every Christmas for the last 4-5 years has had less twinkle....

      IMO it's been declining since the 60's, when retail went from predominantly Local stores to Chain department stores to Shopping malls. Just not the same... then again, I still remember Popcorn machines in Sears Roebuck & Co stores, so that says a lot!

I heard that the numbers were down, but I can't cite anything specific, so, heresay.

If you're interested in some anecdotal -
I just told my entire family that they are getting my homemade bread for Christmas.
So, no huge holiday buying going on at the Eudaimonia household.
