first cast was the best...although THAT started almost 1/4 of the novel in..... I trudged through the 2nd part but that was painful, hatchet job... I hope this failure doesn't stop another studio from attempting to create this film again-the right way

It's all television quality at it's best. It should have been a major motion picture with an outstanding all-star cast & special affects. But there's a reason it wasn't and so we have television quality pictures & casting.
...and yes. The first cast (as bad as it was in itself) was far better than the 2nd. Except for D. B. Sweeney as John Galt. Good choice in my opinion, and that's all any of my comments are.

I finally got to see WHO will be playing the varis parts . . . In a word : DISAPPOINTING . . . producers failed once again, to listed to the public about their choices OF their actors . . . another FAILURE ! . . . pity . . . Had they decided to return to the "FIRST" cast, I would be excited, but now . . . its going to be Pt-2 all over again. Looks like I WON'T be seeing it . . . I "Still" can't watch Pt-2 either. You would have thought that BECAUSE of the failure of the others, they might have actually LEARNED something . . . looks like that its NOT the case.

Worst cast EVER.. Robb Morrow, from Northern Exposure as Hank Readon? Joaquim de Almedia as Francisco d’Anconia who is supposed to be Dagny's former lover is 20 YEARS OLDER than the actress playing her AND John Galt... and they were in SCHOOL together? No way is a 37 year old going to have that much business/political experience or create the following that the REAL John Galt did in the novel... well, that's Hollywood for ya... pity

Been away from the gulch for a bit. Has there been any posts regarding cast for part 3?

NW Indiana has some terrific old steel mills that are great for showing modern steelmaking and dilapidated old mills as a contrast.
