I will vote for Ben if he actually rises all the way to the top (doubt it) but not in a primary. There are better choices.
My #1 choice Scott Walker has proven he can successfully govern in a hostile libtard environment.
I will not vote for a RINO like Jeb Bush.
That's when I vote for the Libertarian or some other alternate choice.
I never wrote in something like Micky Mouse before.
There can always be a first time.

I love his point of view and coolness. Having said that, the problem a Washington outsider has is this: Any successful free enterprise leader works to gather facts, create a plan, and execute the plan. After making a decision the very successful businessman expects to see action by close of business today! Washington does not do that.

Washington creates blue ribbon committees, has debates, combines needed legislation with pork barrel, then presents it to the executive (months late) with a take the pork to get the good bill to be signed into law. The president can veto it and hope for a clean bill, or bite the bullet and take the unwanted with the desired.

For any CEO from free enterprise this is a disaster. Nothing moves.

The good doctor had enough gravitas to assemble several surgical teams and rehearse them several times in preparation for the 1st successful separation of conjoined (at the head) twins. All of the combined departments dancing to Dr. Carson's tune.

Washington DC will not do that. After all of those negatives, it is impressive to note how much the will of one person can change things, just look at the president we now have.

While I personally like Ben Carson, his Second Amendment views don't thrill me. He does object to Obamacare, which I appreciate. And he has at least a basic grip on economic matters - which is a huge leg up on anything coming from the Dem side. I don't view his lack of experience in politics to be a bad thing at all: we need more people willing to look to private enterprise for the solutions to problems rather than government programs. Carson isn't my top choice at the moment (Scott Walker is), but he may impress me.

Unless he can control the DC insiders, he is wasting his time.

Sure, john. I am just very skeptical of the candidate's integrity. No way I will back anyone until he publishes what actions he will take on important issues. Top priority is to shut down the fed and kill the income tax, and closing federal departments (e.g., Education, EPA, Agriculture) that exceed powers allowed in the constitution, repealing O-care, stopping the drug war, making asset forfeiture without a trial impossible, establishing enforcement of immigration laws using a state border guard and a plan for expelling all the illegals.

Funny, charming, brilliant man. Probably too nice to mount a successful Presidential campaign. His debut somewhat overshadowed by that of Fiorina who has more experience in politics. Possible VP choice but more likely a Cabinet selection.

I'm a pro-choice conservative...to either drop your drawers or not, to allow for release inside a womans body or not and to either use a variety of birth control options or not. Killing a living being because it is in formation and unable to speak or defend itself, because you exercised a variety of choices, is not a choice in my eyes.

Human egg + human sperm = human being, if left alone.

Anyhow, thats my view in the matter and everyone else is entitled to theirs.

Carson has my support to lose thus far. His lack of experience is a definite plus because his reason and core Americanism is something we sorely lack in government.

    That isn't a resounding recommendation, john.;^)

I don't know all of his positions yet, although I do object to his anti-choice stance. But I don't believe any current Republican candidate (or prospective one) is pro-choice. But that is not a litmus test for me, as other Republican Presidents have been the same, and I don't think it's an issue they can do anything about.

I did love how he stood up against Obama on ObamaCare, to Obama's face. As an accomplished neurosurgeon and therefore obviously a doctor, he seemed to know a lot of specifics about what's wrong with Obamacare, and I would hope have ideas on getting rid of it, while addressing all of the "anti-free-market" things that are wrong with the current system.

He is a very accomplished, intelligent and well-spoken. In fact, in the clips I've seen he seems quite soft-spoken and reasonable. In my book, that's a plus.

The fact that he grew up in Detroit (my hometown) in poverty, and still accomplished all he did, puts the lie to all the current racist crap about how a poor black can't make it in this country.

As I said, now that he is running, I'll look further into his positions on more important issues, like the economy, reducing (drastically) the size and power of The Federal government, taxes, etc.

Could you be a bit more specific about why you don't approve of Ben Carson? I read the article, and the only point against him seems to be his lack of experience in office.
