The Democrats continually play the race card because they know that they cannot win without the Black votes. Blacks vote about 95% for the Democrat whoever he or she is. If even 10 % of Blacks switched to vote Republican, many close races would change the winner from Democrat to Republican. The Democrats support income entitlements and racial preferences. By constantly playing the race care, the Democrats make the Blacks believe that they are discriminated against by the White Republican establishment. Democrats believe that they must keep the Black distrust and hatred of Whites alive to ensure that Blacks will stay on the Democrats plantation. Republicans can only offer liberty and freedom from government domination that would be much more beneficial to Blacks in the long run than any government benefits offered by Democrats.
As others have expressed, what the mayor said live, on videotape, was disgraceful. Then she outright denied saying it. Then when it couldn't be denied, she had some "handlers" try to "walk it back" and "explain it". Are the Dems giving classes in "How to Handle a Crisis Like Hillary"?
As an Individualist, I don't excuse any rioter or looter from their choice to act violently, "history of oppression" or no history. Oh puleeeeze...
Having said that, I do agree with the poster who lives locally, and defends the rights of those who simply want to peacefully assemble and protest. That is certainly their right.
And there are also recent reports that, surprise, there are some "professional protestors" being called in via social media, "outsiders", with apparent links to similar "outsiders" who also showed up in Ferguson, Mo.
Obama might as well come out and express his true feelings, that: No sacrifice and no amount of human suffering is too great to bear in the cause of Glorious Revolution.
I think she was saying she instructed the police to let people exercise their free speech, but allowing these non-violent protesters assemble in such a volatile situation has the unwanted consequence of making it easier for those who wish to destroy.
I don't know if she's telling the truth or doing a good job. But I didn't hear hear her admit to tolerating violence.
No. A quick search will provide you with the facts. From The Daily Beast:
"Yes, she said it.
Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake stood before the news cameras over the weekend and really did say, “We also gave those who wish to destroy space to do that as well.”
She uttered these words while explaining how she had sought to maintain “the very delicate balance” between the right to protest and the safety of police officers as a week of demonstrations over the death of Freddie Gray began to turn violent on Saturday."
The delicate balance is between what and what? I think she say's between a) allowing space for peaceful demonstration and b) stopping violent activity. It sounded like she was saying making space for peaceful demonstration inadvertently made space for crime.
"I worked with the police and instructed them to do everything they could to make sure the protestors were able to exercise their right to free speech. It's a very delicate balancing act because while we tried to make sure they were protected from the cars and the other things that were going on, we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well. We worked very hard to keep that balance."

Is there any irony in that apparently they're asking to be bussed in?
And haven't Sharpton and Jackson shown up yet?
