According to a March 2013 anonymous poll of 15,000 officers by the law enforcement website http://policeone.com., almost 90 percent of the respondents believed casualties would be decreased if armed citizens were present during shooting incidents, while more than 80 percent supported arming teachers who were trained with firearms.

I think it feeds into the idea that if you're a gun owner your dangerous and looking for trouble. Leaving them home seems...well... weak. Not serious about opposing gun control laws. You gave them what they wanted...gun owners, showing up without their guns.
There was a protest at the capitol in phx and everybody showed up armed. With AR-15's.

Did you hear about this guy? He's got a pair. But I think he also got arrested later for posting this video. Him and some others also got arrested for dancing at the Jefferson Memorial.
He has a youtube channel, and some interesting things to say. I'm pretty sure he's a Rand fan as well, if maybe a little rough around the edges.

The speed at which something happens it not necessarily compromise. I am hoping that not only can we stop the loss of rights but actually turn the tide the other way and get past legislation removed starting with the "gun free" zones. That will not be accomplished by inviting armed conflict with the government... At this point.

Empty holsters are often used around here for protesting without having to contend with an armed response from jackbooted government thugs.

Okay, good point...but wussification IS what is being done to young boys at public school....and then they grow up and vote. And think an empty holster is acceptable at a gun control protest. What does an empty holster symbolize?? It sure isn't the right to "bear arms". OR did it get changed to the "right to bear empty holsters"? Actually I hadn't heard of this before...where have I been??

I just have to laugh at how pussified we have become in this country, and the DC second amendment marches are a classic example. Tens of thousands of people converging to protest gun laws with EMPTY holsters. I'm sorry, but I can't say as that the DC crooks got the point.
I'm glad Jefferson and the boys back in the day didn't try to go about it that way.

I'd rather have a tidal wave of 2nd Amendment lovers descend on washington...in protest form and put this gun control crap in a permanent coma, than a sneaking backward tide. :)

I am conservatively optimistic the liberal take of gun control might be finally running its course out. It has to happen at some point as fallacies can only exist for so long before dragged into the light and revealed for what they are. It seems to me that public interest is waning to a large degree. There are simply too many good stats on firearms to be ignored. I do not think we are anywhere near out of the woods, but the tide might be sneaking back a bit.
