Should we leave California to reap the rewards of liberal policy?

I'm inclined to say yes, until I notice another California license plate moving in down the street from me.

Depends on whose holding the note. If it's the Chines they may foreclose and lay claim to the property, giving them a beach head without a shot being fired.

A better solution would be to require them to honor their personal responsibility and work their way out of the problem. 50- 100 years of working very hard and seeing only debt reduction as a benefit might cause them to consider their actions in the future.

YES... you (hopefully) have no idea what the Legilators have done AND are proposing... I just moved to the Gulch by closing my 68 year old business... outlandish (fraudulent) workers comp, going up about 25% annually again... Unemployment Insurance (no claims) up from .9% to 6.4% with a 20 BILLION shortfall... overtime after 8 hours, not 40 like the other 49 States... Mandates on regulations and employee comp... AND contemplating a $13 hourly Min Wage tied to inflation. NO, do not give them a cent of support, they must drown in their own waste. See "Detroit" for further instructions!

That is because their liberal policies are a religion to them. They blame everyone else that their policies screw everything up, without ever realizing it is those policies themselves that are the problem, so they try to move someplace new and "Fix" the place hoping they will do it better.

Remember Atlas Shrugged at the end:
They take Galt to the Wayne-Falkland Hotel, to create the illusion that he's not a prisoner; but armed guards are at his door. A series of visitors, beginning with Mr. Thompson, argue, beg, and threaten Galt to tell them what to do to save their skins. Thompson even offers him to become the economic dictator of the nation.

Of course Galt must use THEIR policies to do this.

Galt: "It took me three hours on the radio to tell you why."
Thompson: "Oh that's just theory! I'm talking business. I'm offering you the greatest job in the world. Will you tell me what's wrong with it?"
Galt: What I told you, in three hours, was it won't work."
Thompson: "You can make it work."
    Galt: "How?"
Thompson: "I don't know, If I did, I wouldn't come to you. It's for you to figure out. You're the industrial genius. You can solve anything."
Galt: I said it can't be done."
    .....
This is their attitude, their religion forces them to keep doing the same thing hoping someday someone will figure it out. Unfortunately they never will because as Galt said.

    IT WON'T WORK!!!

I took a trip to California a year or so ago. I used to live there. What I FELT is that the state was the practical representation of that rotted out tree in the beginning of AS. There is tremendous wealth still there, but the trunk of the tree is rotted out. It will take awhile for the whole tree to fall (the wealth has to be removed), but the die is cast. Any state that would actually elect Nancy Pelosi is doomed.

In Jefferson's day, Liberal was deemed liberal with Liberty. Today it has been completely spun to mean "liberal with stolen tax money for redistribution" and thus rendered meaningless.

Let's stop using the word "liberal" and perhaps use the term "collectivist", which covers the gamut of Governments of Force.

We have the problem in Arizona that the liberals make a mess of their state, leave because of the mess, and try to enact the same mess here. It would be nice if they would, indeed, sleep in the beds they make---California or anywhere else.

Excellent point. It always seems the liberals are never content unless they share their misery with everyone else.

That's not the question. The question is, can we stop Californians from voting in the same mistakes in other States?

The problem that we run into in Nevada, is that they always complain about the conditions in California (their reason for leaving) yet try to recreate them here. They come here enjoying our lower taxes and no income tax, yet they don't register their cars here because it's cheaper in Ca. They like our new home prices, but now they are making builders add so many amenities to the communities that cause the prices to go up. And the stories go on and on..

No, please, no. We are too big to go thirsty. We need to provide for our millions of undocumented newcomers. You will be required to send us your water and your money. Now.
