Fair point. However there is a big difference between having your idea replicated for a military application in an obscure government lab and the government actually stealing the technology, building facilities to produce it, and bringing it to market.

Of course the government can steal ideas.. The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a government institution..

I'm not trying to sound paranoind, but they already have the patents technically. There is no telling how many people are having their advancements taken advantage of.
