The End of the License Plate?

This is an interesting article that was posted in another forum I participate in. It would appear that the surveillance state may have the consequence of eliminating State issued individual license plates in favor of even more tracking technology.
The other forum is the discussion site for the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association (ALPCA) of which I am a member. Many are dismayed that their hobby of collecting all the various State issued plate designs may disappear and be relegated to something that used to be issued, but many are concerned with the rise of the surveillance State as well.
