Actually, wouldn't a flame thrower be an awesome defensive weapon to protect your property? Not only does it work but people are inherently afraid of being burnt.Of course I'd still want to have my pistol handy and be covered by a couple of friends with AR15s.

Although I think the fire hose guy "cheated" and fired first. If the flamethrower were sufficiently powerful and fired first the fire hose guy would have been crispy before he got a chance to fire the hose. :)

Although as my aikido instructor says - the person that cheats first wins the fight.
