Excerpt:
Would you enter into a contract with a person where you appointed him as the judge of any dispute? “Hey! You violated our agreement and caused me terrible damages!” Says the accused, “Well, upon my review I find that, no, I didn’t. Case closed.” This sham construction epitomizes why the government has with such abandon broken its own rules on countless occasions. People tend to be queasy about monopolies. Well, here we have a monopoly on both law creation and law enforcement.

The Articles of Confederation were better, in that power was more decentralized, but state level tyranny would still be possible. Any concentration of power corrupts. Fear of the unknown is used to concentrate power.
