It would be a start. I like it, but if everyone had to pay quarterly like I do, instead of having with-holding, the screams would be heard across the nation. People would storm the IRS like it was the Bastille.

If elections were on April 16, then politicians would pass laws increasing the withholding requirements. That way on April 15 everyone would be happy about the big refund they were getting from the government! Buying your vote with your own money,

No! They should all be paid on April 15, in one big lump sum.
This made me laugh out loud!

Agree! Taxes should not be withheld from an individual's pay check, but should be mandated to be paid in installments beginning on April 16th and continuing for the rest of the year. Imagine those who think they don't pay taxes to suddenly realize they have to give up some of their "needs" in order to pay their "fair share." The outrage may span several election cycles, even special elections in the middle of July.
