Shaw: Is anyone completely evil or good? Out of the minds of monsters occasionally comes brilliance. Most fans are like Che fans though... ignorant of other aspects. O'Toole: Yeah, singing not so much... :) Lawrence... Fantastic! The others MM mentioned were good too.

One of my heroes. So sad to hear the news.I heard a story about Peter O'Toole regarding an interview by a younger reporter. The reporter asked how he felt about the nature of the roles he played in his later years. O'Toole thought a minute and said " When I was younger, I spent a good part of my life trying to impress others. Now I expect people to impress me and you are not doing a very good job".
I strive and look forward to reaching that point in my life. Almost there!

    Fantastic actor...

Considering his comments regarding Shaw and London's book Martin Eden I wonder of his political outlook. Shaw was a great playwright but his politics were of a different character. London's book Martin Eden was intended as support for socialist ideals... I wonder how O'Toole felt about them.
In any case he will be missed,

he was an actor. everyone loves Shaw even though he was socialist activist and did not value human life. oh and was racist.
He could not sing very well...but I give him an A for effort since they kept wanting to put him in things he had to sing. Lawrence of arabia is a wonderful movie.

A great filmography. Lawrence of Arabia... The Lion in Winter... A Man for all Seasons... Good-bye Mr. Chips...
(and the gin-swilling colonial governor who rises to the moment in Club Paradise...)
