"Hero" - Dustin Hoffman (Opinions Please)
An old movie, "Hero", starring Dustin Hoffman is one of my favorites. Bernie LaPlant is "my kind of hero" in this movie. Well... kinda.
But, what I really want is the opinion of any Objectivists who've seen the movie (if you haven't, I think you should).
What stereotypes or archetypes would you apply to the various characters in the story?
I got an Atlas Shrugged/Fountainhead feel, even though it's a black comedy, because everything based in the movie was based on... BS. And you got Bernie walking through the movie, already made cynical by all the BS he's already encountered, trying to get the truth out (for his own benefit), and finally cutting a BS deal himself in order to ensure his kid is taken care of.
But, you have Gina Davis playing a Dagney/Dominque type character, in search of, in this case, the truth behind the BS.
Anyway, that's pretty much my take, and I'd like to know what actual Objectivists think of it / took away from it.
