Bet you didn't see that one coming.
Do you feel kind of slimed? Or are you just so ho-hum used to all the obvious corruption now?
A lot has happened since Eric Holder gave some New Black Panthers a pass for trying to intimidate white voters.

Wow. You could have knocked me over with a bowling pin.

You know, we all have always hated the IRS, but in a non-prejudicial way. Everyone from both sides of the equation have always felt that we're all getting screwed regardless of our political beliefs. And oddly enough, that's what gave the IRS it's credibility and it's legitimacy. But now, at long last, it's being shown for what it is...a weapon of political expediency. Now none of us trust them, and it's downhill from there I'm afraid.

Well, I filed my State taxes and for the first time in years it was "selected" for manual review: "It will take 10 weeks at least, assuming you comply with all requests for more information" That was 6 weeks ago. Maybe all the acidic comments about our corrupt state got me on the "special attention" list. Lucky I filed using Block and got the "worry free audit support". Idiots.

Well you know what happens at the bottom of a hill? You have to clime back up or stay at the bottom, and who likes to be a bottom feeder?

Its the point at which we realize our folly and start to climb back up that I am looking forward to, perhaps it coming up slowly

The American people have absolutely no representation. The American government is practically void of any honor and conviction.

A segment of the American people are completely represented by the current direction. I have a sister that is one of them. She has 5 kids that are all part of the "free stuff" nonsense. They are well represented.

The issue is not a lack of representation but that stake holders in our country are smaller than the non-stake holders. The representation swings to the near 50% that have no stake in the country, other than to draw from it in some way.

Apparently we have entered a time when evil has everything it needs to thrive in this country... and actually it only needs ONE thing.

... for good people to be apathetic and do nothing?

Exactly... and by doing so (or not doing so) these 'good' people are no longer 'good'. IMO.

Lack of action is an action. Nearly always an evil one.

I had a discussion about Social Security with my dad (87) about two weeks ago. He talked about how he paid into it so he had it coming. Which is a regular statement from him. I pushed a button in me.

I stated he had it coming, until he did nothing to stop the government from spending it on something else. Today his money was stolen by the government, so now he has to steal from and his other working children to get his. If I want mine, I will have to steal it from my kids or someones, to get it.

He did not take well to it, was rather upset. On Monday we celebrated his 87th birthday. At that time he told me I was right, and then asked my older bother by 15 years if he was going start stealing from his kids in 3 years. My brother had no idea what my dad was saying.

Until people are willing to walk away from the money that is all ready really lost, the cycle will continue and get worse until we can no longer pay them through the process of theft the money that was stolen a generation ago.

I am working towards not taking social security at all, it will be ruff but if I do not do it who will.

"What's the matter, Mr. Rearden? Would you rather I were a law-abiding citizen? If so, which law should I abide by? Directive 10-289?"

    - Ragnar Danneskjöld

The DoJ themselves were in on it. They're all in on it. This should tell people why we should press to cut out as much government as possible. And to explore alternative, even voluntary, means of paying the police, military, and law courts.

On other forums I've had people ask me that very thing: should people who think "police" and "brutality" always go together, face a fine if they don't support the police through taxes? Should those who object, conscientiously, politically, or for any reason or no reason, to going to war, face a fine if they do not support the military through taxes?

Lay aside for the moment that we now are talking about core functions of government. Let's examine Rand's bare-bones proposals to make the compulsion aspect of government support go away. She suggested a government lottery. "There are other methods," she said. But she never said what other methods. We should discuss those now.

In 2005 I put an addition on my house. I was required to go to the school district office and pay a $1500 development fee. To this I did not object as I had three sons in the school district. So off I went with check book in hand. I told the personnel there, as I wrote the check, that now I wished I could go over to the local Police and Sheriff’s Departments, the Fire Department, and the local Military bases and pay my FEEs directly to them!

I second EW’s idea of a separate post to develop this idea.

Could you imagine the difference in our Government if Sarah Palin was our President??? At least as Governor, she had no trouble convicting corrupt politicians from both sides of the isle...

I do not think that "corrupt" really describes DOJ fully.

Racial Agenda Driven has become their face far more than simply corrupt in my opinion.

Ya know, they are so RAD :P

What else would anyone expect from a corrupt DOJ, in fact, from a corrupt government? I figure they had to let her off since she got her orders from the White House. If she was put on the spot she might talk and it could implicate someone from the White House. The White House should be renamed to The Big House. That's what it is today.

I feel screwed, blewed, and tattooed. The Washington Aristocraps sure look out for one another. They are above the law. The next one to get away with misdeeds will be Harry Reid, as being a part of the latest Democrat scandal. One will get you two that he walks while his partners in crime might as well lie down in the gutter and let the bus roll over them.

What I find totally disgusting is that if the other party gets into the executive position after the next election they will drop everything and not pursue this criminal faction. I suspect that it is a "tit for tat" informal agreement (I would say "a gentleman's agreement", but few of them truly can be trusted and therefore, are not gentlemen.) So that if the tide turns again, the Dems will not go after the Repubs' criminal acts.

I go to the mailbox, bring in my mail, sit, go through the envelops, see another obvious donation request by the GOP and I toss it into the trash unopened.
This has been going on for some time. Reasons not to open mail sent by the GOP only keep piling up.

The real purpose of government is the protection and expansion of itself and its minions. Thats why it hardly EVER is successful with its programs. The declared beneficiaries arent in their sights at all- its just the continuation and expansion of government that they want to accomplish. And they do that very well

Other than "The real purpose" I agree. Its the hidden purpose. The real purpose is to reciprocate force on those that initiate it against another in order to deter the use of force by anyone. It is failing to fulfill this purpose on nearly every level except perhaps enforcing patent rights.

Fearless Leader has fully weaponized all agencies of the Government. The same Justice depart that overlooks Lois Lerner destroys Bob Menendez for standing against a few Obama policies. In America today, even the elite have to take care to follow the company creed.

What has become of "American today" is really quite sad.
It's like a wannabe dictatorship yearning to take that one last step.
      Our Founding Fathers would weep.

NO surprise in anything this administration does any more. Actually, I haven't been surprised by their actions since "o" was elected. Just waiting to see what the next affront to the "rule of law" will be.

A long time ago, I heard a phrase which seems to fit these times under this administration. "Blessed is he who expects the worst, for he shall not be disappointed". Don't know where I heard it or saw it, but it just seems to fit perfectly with the current state of affairs of this nation.

There you go. All those donations are not tax exempt. Except when they are laundered through Davis-Bacon or other similar Congressional exemptions. Question. Did she erase the hard drives?

I will not, myself, ask for that status. I don't even have a savings account because they pay taxable interest. He said tongue in cheek
