O'Keefe's videos should be played on Fox 24/7. This is huge. But, realistically, I remember Fox played the "I think it's better if you spread the wealth around" video hundreds of times before the 08 election, and it made no difference at all.
Because the people voting now don't want to have to work very hard, or have reality slap them on the face. Because, omg, it HURTS! They live in a world of video game immortality. No consequences. They just get back up, no harm no foul, and they're whole again. There are no lasting repercussions. Handed the keys to the city, and they take everything. Because they expect they can. They DESERVE that stuff.
I am not a big fan of college anymore anyway. I think most students could learn much more from the internet and just going out into the world than they learn in "lectures". The world has changed and college isnt the best place to learn anymore. Its just been replaced by more effective ways to learn.
I'm stunned myself. But do you really expect this man, with all the students he has to care about, and all the money he has to disburse, to actually KNOW that Islamic State is ISIS, of even what Hamas does? He's a busy man, and his job is to say YES, we can help you./Sarcarsm font off
NOW, I want someone from Veritas to go in and ask the same kind of questions about a broadly named Christian organization, since they are usually the ones on the outs. Can't wait!
There are many Christian organizations at Cornell. There is also an Objectivist Club. When I was a student in 1970 there was a Randian group - Radicals for Capitalism. There is no reason to fear ISIS on US campuses. The more people know about them, and meet ISIS supporters, the less sympathy there will be for ISIS.
I hope you're right. If given the chance, at best, this club will be a recruiting vehicle for the stupid and a springboard for allah's bloodletting at worst.
Irrationality: Man’s basic vice, the source of all his evils, is the act of unfocusing his mind, the suspension of his consciousness, which is not blindness, but the refusal to see, not ignorance, but the refusal to know. Irrationality is the rejection of man’s means of survival and, therefore, a commitment to a course of blind destruction; that which is anti-mind, is anti-life. Ayn Rand.
Sadly a big truth. Always it was a place to debate ideas and differing points of view. It was not so stifled, even in the art school I went to, as it appears to be now.
Amazing. have things changed that much. Do these people not realize that the educated peons used to help subvert a nation are the first to be ceremoniously killed. After all if they betray their country they will betray the new rulers
Ivy PUKE why would we be suprised when this comes from the heart of BS? fools is too kind a word, they want domination as they see themselves as part of the crowd in power as most academics believe. think they woujld have learned when Hitler and Mao killed off all the intellectuals. they have plenty of these clubs in prisons for obvious reasons.
Roundly embarassed again. Whenever my town, county or the Cornell Campus opens their mouths. MY Comrade ...errr ... MAYOR went on a tirade.. not about Cornell, but about the dirty tactics of the filmmaker ... MY ONLY REGRET, James O'Keefe was IN my TOWN, and I was unable to SHAKE HIS HAND!!!!!
According to the Cornell President. http://news.cornell.edu/stories/2015/03/... Project Veritas does not report the truth. "As the president of Cornell University, I want to be clear that the notion that Cornell would allow ISIS training sessions on our campus is ludicrous and absolutely offensive.
Project Veritas, the organization behind this shoddy piece of “journalism” has been repeatedly vilified for dishonest, deceitful activity. It is shameful that any individual would pose as a student facing racial discrimination at another university, ask leading questions on hidden camera about Cornell’s tolerance for differing viewpoints and backgrounds, and then conveniently splice together the resulting footage to smear our assistant dean and our University. After speaking with Assistant Dean Scaffido, I am convinced that he was not aware of what he was being asked.
Let me be clear: Cornell has an unwavering commitment to the free and responsible exchange of ideas. However, we remain vigilant in maintaining an appropriate balance of freedom of expression within accepted boundaries. Of course, incitement to violence is not protected and would never be tolerated on our campus. "
Let me be clear: Cornell president did not deny any of the facts from the video. He's attempting to smear the reporter in general, undefined terms, but the facts are self-evident. Just to be clear...
Exactly. Classic intellectual double speak with a touch of Frankfurt School political correctness. Of course he will protect his employee - but the fact remains the Assistant Dean "had no clue" concerning the interview subject matter.
Oh, I believe that he had a clue. The subject pleased him well. In a recent Oklahoma State case, students were ejected from the school (good bye tuition...) for an eledgedly racist chant recorded on a cell phone. Due process was not even considered.
Not sure I agree with you but an interesting point regardless. My local liberal educators friends tend to get lost in the trees rather than see the forest. Wonder what would have happened had the interview been with the Assistant Dean at Hillsdale College?
Are you saying that the Assistant Dean at Cornell is SO stupid that he does not know who ISIS are? And he is so comatose that he is incapable of recognizing Hamas? I bet you anything that if I were to walk in there asking for a Pro Israel speaker, or a Pro Second Amendment speaker, he would wake up in an instant and have me escorted out. Look, those people may be stupid, and some of them are very stupid, but they all know the key words - socialism, terrorism, freedom fighters - those are good words. Capitalism, personal responsibility, earning your own way - bad words.
I am sure he knows of all the named Muslim cults. I just think he was too naive to figure out what was happening. He gave "the company talking points' as a conditioned response. Universities especially have canned speeches for varous interview topics. A good little useful idiot to quote Lenin.
Agree completely. He was (and is) too stupid to know that he was being setup. A total "useful" idiot. Just as disturbing is his boss' support for the Party line. Of course, they're just happy to support their el presidento.
That situation would have never arisen to begin with. On the off chance though, that assistant dean would have been given his walking papers in short order.
Cornell has had 6 presidents in the last 10 years. They'd have more job security at McDonalds. FREE and Responsible exchange of Ideas.... that's why they UNINVITED Ann Coulter a couple years back.. and paid Sandra FLUKE Thousands of Dollars to Address an audience of 10. Always on the right side, I guess (snark)
This leaves no doubt about the the higher education our young people at all universities across our nation. When these young people enter the real world they will carry these views and make it hard to keep our nation safe.
They live in a world of video game immortality. No consequences. They just get back up, no harm no foul, and they're whole again. There are no lasting repercussions. Handed the keys to the city, and they take everything. Because they expect they can. They DESERVE that stuff.
