Honestly, doubtful, I'm not even sure he'd be the best choice.

But, I'm *not* going to pass up the opportunity it presents to start hitting back at these smug Marxist SOBs.

But that's a bonus too as the Marxists are driven to further apoplexy when they have their own "birther" arguments shoved back in their faces.

This is going to be a smorgasbord of schadenfreude!

If you did not know he was the "son of a preacher man" before, you sure did after all the god crap he mixed with the good stuff he put in his announcement.

Whether his politics are good or bad, I just want to see everybody who denounced the legitimacy of candidate Obama because they were convinced he was born in Kenya, come out and denounce the legitimacy of candidate Cruz, whose Canadian birth is NOT even disputed.

Oh, to see a President Cruz! Will criticism of his policies by Democrats be labelled racist and anti-Hispanic???

If it weren't for some of my liberal friends publicly losing their minds over this I might not have known it was happening. They really are wrapped around the axle over this...

The DemReps/banksters are very good at demonization, and if that doesn't work, threat (ala Perot) and "death from natural causes' or accident.

There's just one problem: I am not sure he qualifies, or can ever qualify, under the strict standard Emmerich de Vattel (The Law of Nation) laid down for his definition of the phrase "natural born citizen." That was the working definition at the time of the Constitutional Convention.

But eligible or not, with today's speech he set a very high standard for other Presidential contenders.

it is between steps 3 and 4 where I think it plays out differently. too many people buy into the 3rd party will assure democratic win. I will watch Cruz with great interest. but I'm also watching Paul.

May it happen just as you forsee, and may Cruz dismantle the mommy state, establish free markets and real money, and Atlantis grow to encompass all of the galaxy with liberty, justice, and happy productivity for all. (Seriously.)

I have *no* faith in the GOP, *ZERO*.

Here's how I hope this all shakes out.

    1) Someone like a Cruz (who has thoroughly pissed off the GOP establishment) runs.
    (Just happened)

    2) The GOP establishment torpedoes his campaign in favor of a Jeb Bush or other Crony-Globalist (as opposed to the Marxist-Globalists of the DNC)
    (Absolutely, 100% *will* happen)

    3) The torpedoed candidate announces that a) the GOP is rotten to its core and no further efforts to reform it should be wasted, and b) he is officially launching a 3rd party to represent the long suffering members of the the GOP who were working for reform, and that c) he is running as candidate through it.
    (Chances as yet undetermined)

    4) The GOP dies the gasping, flailing death of the Whigs
(If 3, then this is an eventual certainty).

And *THAT*, FFA, is how much faith I have in the GOP.

Way too much faith in the GOP, E.
Only a sideshow unless the GOP already has the evidence needed for blackmail and control. Then it is real but is more of the same.
