And we'll watch as they cave - AGAIN - on the budget

The initial plan (in full here: http://budget.house.gov/uploadedfiles/fy...) is pretty good. Not perfect, but very reasonable.

Unfortunately, I have little faith that anything even close to this will make it through.

If this were to hit a vote and pass it would require a 2/3 majority or it will be vetoed. They will not have that majority so it wont get through.

And it will turn into "government shutdown" fear-mongering all over again. I agree that this is likely. I just hoped that for ONCE the Republicans would just stand firm and tell BHO to go to ____. Not likely to happen, but it would be awfully fun to see the apoplexia set in. Telling a narcissist "no" is about the funnest thing you can do. ;)

No, they won't cave. This will never get close to a real vote. I'm not objecting to this budget per se, but it seems to me we're not yet in a position to win the war. Let's try to win some battles first.

And while in general I like Fox News as a source of objective news and reporting, it does annoy me when they post, as they did last night, a headline to the effect (paraphrasing): "The Death of Obamacare?". Based on the proposed repeal of Obamacare in this budget. A waste of time to even click on the link.

probably not, but at least they aren't starting from their typical point of weakness. That's an important start - you can't negotiate with something you've already conceded.

"it does annoy me when they post"
It does seem a bit of a stretch, I agree.

Yes, to be clear, I do agree that the proposed budget should be as strong and principled as possible. I was more expressing my frustration, I'm sure shared by many, at the unlikelihood at such a budget being passed with the current make-up of Congress and Obama (and his pen) in the WH.

      Win some battles?
      You are fooling yourself.
With this gang of looters there is no result from 'winning small battles' except a slightly slower advance to slavery.
Go for the throat, or head for the hills.

How can you expect anything from these looters?
How many times do they have to lie, and pretend, and do exactly the opposite thing they promised?
In this case I hate being right, but the history is clear. They only want us as cattle.
