Major entitlements (Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare and Social Security) devoured more than half of the 2014 budget at 51 percent of spending. Other federal benefits took another 19 percent, meaning that 70 percent of government spending went to pay some sort of benefit to someone.

    True. The problem really is that the money was confiscated twice. First from us and then the Feds stole it so they could spend it for other programs. My biggest takeaway is that this is unsustainable.

    I disagree that Social Security and Medicare are entitlements. The money paid for those programs was forcefully taken for most people over a period of 40 to 50 years.
